Down the YouTube UFO rabbit hole !!

I would not be surprised. Here's a conspiracy theory for consideration. Over the last 40+ years we have been prepped for this coming contact. Star Trek, Star Wars, ET, X Files etc. We now have context to better understand Mulders phrase. "I want to believe". ??????????????

You forgot "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" to big a deal to be left in the etc division.:D

Klaatu berada nikto.

So aliens would be anti 2nd types

it is rumored that the air force has a secret air base about 750 miles sw of Cairo for pilots and other personnel that have claimed to have seen ufo's. I can't say the name of here or I would get dinged. it take a number of days by camel to get there. it would be best to never say anything about it if you thought you seen an ufo.

My take on the whole UFO...alien visitors thingie is...whaddabout it? What's the big deal?

Let me explain the whole "alien thing".
Why would aliens bother to visit us? It's kinda like the girl down at the plant that is pretty. She only talks to the guys who have something to offer, and if they can travel light years, that would not be us. Now on the other hand,,, there is that girl that gets around the plant and has crabs. This is the kind of alien that would come here. There is no telling where that alien has been and one thing is for sure, she/it isn't welcome in any galactic trailer park very long. Don't trust aliens that would come visit us.

"A five shot DAO revolver, how...
Logical..."

Actually, I find it illogical. Never saw the need for the Centennial, with the Bodyguard option. And my ultimate snub is really the M-60-7. I just put a thumb over the hammer for a snag-free draw. And I seldom carry a gun in a pocket, anyway.

I didn't like the phasers on, Enterprise as well as those on the original series. I've read that Gene Roddenberry didn't want them to look too much like guns, as he was a Hollywood liberal. But they clearly needed weapons!

A phaser seen in the Star Trek movies has a handle much like a Colt Govt. Model .45 pistol. Story is, Wm. Shatner somehow handled a M-1911A-1, liked the way it felt, and had the prop dept. make up a phaser with that sort of grip.

However, I'd have liked for Jolene Blalock (played T'Pol) to give me a tour of the weapons room on the Enterprise of her day.

Kinda wonder how the food made in those synthesizers would taste, too.

Count youself with my beloved wife, her father taught her to cock a revolver and shoot it Single Action, so her EDC is a nickle plated M49. She pocket carries, I am firm believer in holsters, previously always OWB, but recently I have started carrying IWB.

As for why aliens are here, probably to eventually establish trade and alliances, or to conquer us and exploit our mineral and other resources.

Another possibility is to have bases here for R&R and to replenish supplies, much as the Dutch built Cape Town in 1652 to replenish their ships travelling to and from the East Indies.

I'm afraid to say more on the board about where that led, but if you know the history of that region of Africa since...a space alien waystation may not be good news for Earth.

Should be a M-649. :) I like stainless, especially in small concealed carry guns. But one can learn to fire in both SA and DA modes.

A real world shooting isn't like leisure time on the range. She may have to draw and fire a fast DA shot at very close quarters. Or cock and fire at 25 yds. I think SA shooting is best on snakes, too, especially if you're trying to hit the head at any distance. In my state, a venomous snake is a pretty likely threat if you're in the outdoors much.

From YouTube UFO's and aliens to which shooting mode is best for what...Oh Yeah....Must be the S&W Forum lounge!

She is alright at quick DA shots. I prefer staged DA, just what we were taught. Good luck getting her to change her mind, I haven't once in, oh, 38 years.

Are there sentient beings beyond our solar system, galaxy?

To answer this question you need only consider the size of the universe; it's really big. So large that it's incomprehensible. If there aren't any other sentient beings out there, it's an awful waste of space.

So, let's assume that there are others out there. However, even if they were a million times more advanced than we are, the chances of them visiting our planet are infinitesimally small. Think about it, there are at least 300 billion stars in the Milky Way. There are at least 100 billion galaxies. If a race of beings looked at one planet every year, it would take more than a trillion years to see a majority of them.

Then there's the distances to deal with. The closest star to Earth (not counting Sol) is 4 light years away. Even if they could travel at the speed of light (which Einstein says they can't) it would take 4 years just to get there. That takes the exploration number to more than 5 trillion years to explore just this galaxy. And by the time they reached the last planet it's already been 5 trillion years since they explored the first.

Unless faster than light is discovered, any exploration of the universe is just science fiction. But remember, it's really big and old so, yeah, it could happen.

Not to mention the extremely hostile environment of outer space like hot/cold extremes, micro meteorites, radiation, etc. Hitting a grain of sand at half the speed of light would be like being hit by a freight train traveling at 1000 mph. And even if some of these fantastic propulsion systems were possible, which it isn't, fueling it would be impossible.

If Bigfoot was a thing, some soccer mom woulda hit one with a Dodge Caravan by now . . .

I think that the "Yeti" aka "abominable snowman" is either the same, or closely related to our Bigfoot. Supposedly the Yeti resides high in the Himalayas. Last week I came across a TV show about a scientific search for the Yeti. They used drones, and tested alleged droppings for DNA. Strangely, they didn't bother to consider the habitat...steep rock slopes, snow, ice and clouds. THERE IS NOTHING FOR IT TO EAT.
