I went to the Cody firearms museum today.
It was awesome! [emoji4]
I highly recommend checking it out if you're passing through Cody, Wyoming.

They have another little building they use for guns that were dug up. It's like an archeological dig the way they are all displayed. It's not actually in the museum but a few blocks down the street. The guns range from revolutionary war times up to WWII.

I was on a Motorcycle trip with some friends exploring Wyoming, Montana & South Dakota. I went to the Cody Museum and was very surprised just how great it was. :) Unfortunately I did not have time to visit the other museums attached to the same building but hopefully some day I will return.

The museum was renovated this past year. It's possible to spend a day in the firearms museum portion, depending on your interests. The firearm museum is one wing of the Cody Museum Complex and it has other areas of historical interest, wildlife, and art. It's an amazing place but you should allow time to see the complex. Cody is a friendly town with so much history and sites to visit.

On our bucket list for possibly this spring along with Little Big Horn. Heard the new remodel is awesome and one needs to plan 2-3 days there.

Lived nearby for years and been there many times, most recently after the renovation. It's a new experience every time I go. Fantastic place!

I live in Cody and the place still amazes me.
Recently went through the "Dug Up Museum".

Do you mean the "little town" they put together just north-west of town. If so, I was there this past summer, after looking at it for almost 20 years. It was pretty neat.....lots of local history! memtb

While talking of museums. If you are wandering that part of the country, check out the train depot in Ogden, UT. They have a large display of John Browning stuff. ( also a nice rail road display and some old cars - at least they did a few years ago). The Cody Museum is top notch. The "little town" is called Old Town and has the current grave sites of several old west personages, including Liver eaten' Johnson (think Robert Redford).
