This product in the gallon jugs has vanished from my local Smiths (Krogers) over the last month or so. I've yet to check the local Albertson's but I have a vague memory that the last time I bought from there it was on clearance.

Are Minute Maid not bottling the big jugs any more or have they been deep sixed in our markets for some reason. Is there an actual juice shortage? Had to but Tropicana the other day. Smaller jug and more expensive.

Not sure about Minute Maid, but I saw Tropicana the other day. I stopped purchasing from them several years ago when they began importing their products. Florida's Natural is 100% USA.

...about an orange juice shortage early in the covid outbreak, but it has taken time to come to pass. They probably had tons of it in the system. It wasn't big news because the actual shortages had everybody in a stew at that time. Maybe the virus is a good excuse to do one of those "make shortage then raise prices" things.

I've noticed the half gallon (64 oz) containers are no longer 64 oz. Target brand is still 64 though.

Common sense isn't so common.

Walmart's OJ is really good though it's made with US and Brazilian oranges. I prefer the taste over Florida natural and the price is better than any other not from concentrate OJ.

Container orange juice gives me a little heart-burn however if i do drink OJ I just squeeze fresh oranges - never bothers me.

It's been at least 4-5 years since the major national brands shrunk the half-gallon container. Some brands (e.g., Florida's Natural) have actually gone through two reductions at this point and are down to 52 oz.

I have not seen diet 7-Up or diet Sprite for months.

Should not be any surprises that many American products are scares or not available. This is the result of companies having to slow production due to furloughs and work stoppages because of people frightened over the boogey virus.

H-E-B and their upscale Central Mkt. stores in TX have really good orange juice.

I prefer the kind with most pulp.

They also have fine delis, and superior coffee and wine depts.
And sell tea from Taylor's of Harrogate, my favorite.

It could be a business decision do to shipping expenses when you consider the difference in size of gallon jugs vs. frozen juice cans!

Sorta of like shipping grain! Much cheaper to ship bottles of beer!

The Kroger's/King Sooper's stores around me are lacking the variety of items that other markets carry. Don't know if it's an issue recovering from the initial pandemic hoarding where supply was an issue.

They do show Minute Maid orange juice available in all sizes including the gallon size.

Plenty of Natalie's at Publix. Best there is.

Knifemaker W.D. Randall also raised oranges and told me he preferred selling to M. Maid. I think their buyer was his hunting partner.

No idea if MM is still as good.

Minute maid hasnt been the same without Bing Crosby pushing it on TV.

I much prefer unpasteurized fresh squeezed (cold pressed) oj.

It’s a bit more expensive than mm and the other mass produced stuff, but it’s much better tasting and has none of the bitterness and acidic after taste of the run of the mill oj.
