Actually it wouldn't be that tough of a decision. A '52 reissue Tele with an orange drop cap with the lacquer sanded off the back of the neck and with a shoe box of various Seymour Duncans.
Oh, my...you're both wrong. It would be a pre-70 Martin D-28.

I graduated high school in the middle of disco. A couple bands like BTO, KISS, of course ELP, & the CBGB scene helped fill the need for real rock...so we thought. After graduation, sometime in the late '70s, God put Van Halen on the radio, and on stage before MTV took over. Eruption happened, and God said "Let there be rock." Man... Martins didn't have adjustable truss rods until '84. The older ones kept me and my heated neck press busy.

Any pre-CBS Tele would be great, but I wouldn't turn down a Strat of any vintage. Acoustic, I guess my Sergio Zepeda classical would work. But just one?

I'd sure like to have my '65 Jazzmaster back. I'd kinda like a fancy PRS too. But the one guitar? Jimi's white Strat.

Uggghhh! For me, it would probably be easier to choose just one revolver.
Okay, okay...I'll play. If I had to choose just one acoustic guitar it would be my Martin D-18, shown on the right.
If I had to choose just one electric guitar, it would probably be this particular Fender Telecaster....a '52 reissue Hot Rod.
Or wait!!...maybe it would be the Gibson Les Paul limited edition on the right...
Or wait!! No...maybe it would be my 1953 Gibson ES-175 that I bought while I was still in high school for $80...

Hey! Don't laugh! I thought I was doing pretty good narrowing it down to just those few! You'd be proud of me, though...I've already given my kids and grandkids some of my guitars and amps, so I must be softening with old age.

I love the black one that I restored. It would be the last to go. I probably couldn't get much for it anyway but it plays great. I hardly ever play the Amberburst and it's in great shape so I'd probably sell it if I had to.
