I think the story was something like Rush picked the music for the baseline and being able to do the intro through it.

Then Chrissy Hines (sp) from the Pretenders found him using it and sent him a cease and desist letter. Somehow Chrissy's parents found out the daughter made him stop using it. The problem was her parents were big Rush fans, and the rest is history.

Now when you hear the beat, it's Rush time...

That isn't what happened. Her distributor sent the cease and desist letter and Chrissy stepped in to help Rush because her Dad was a huge Rush fan. She donated the royalties to Charity.

I saw Chrissie Hynde in concert about 12 years ago at a casino in North Kansas City. What a great show and her voice then was still as powerful as ever.

I agree not my top Pretenders pick but I will forever associate this tune more to Rush than to The Pretenders.

And I am a fan of both.

I saw her at an outdoor concert in Reno (Hot August Nights) a few years ago. She was definitely firing on all cylinders.

I grew up in Akron, OH. She did a great job of describing it. She had a vegetarian restaurant downtown Akron. I don't know if it is still there.
