Need a car battery ? check out Menards
My Camaro Z28 needed a battery. OEM would be ACDelco. Autozone ACDelco was $150 + $18 core charge. An automotive friend told me to check Menards. Menards ACDelco $100 + $10 core charge. Called them and in stock. Took a core with me, saved $50 and a $11 rebate.

In a different department they have small tractor and Zero Turn batteries in stock too, about 1/2 price of Auto Zone.

Wal Mart has good quality batteries at a reasonable price. No Menards or Rural King around here. My batteries usually come from Auto Zone or Walmart.

LOL I know at Rural King a 70 series would drop right in that Camaro for $49.95 plus exchange.

After 9 1/2 years even though my wife's Buick LaCrosse battery was just fine (never had any issues), I decided to replace it rather than have to risk her getting stuck in the snow somewhere. It was the OEM factory battery and was a 72 month rated AC Delco Gold. I was quite impressed that it lasted 114 months + so I replaced it with the same identical Gold battery. BTW When I did this about 2 years ago the AC Delco Gold was the best rated battery I saw at any price! The new one is working perfectly!
My experience with Interstate, Die Hard and Exide has NOT been positive!

+1 on AC Delco. My last vette went 8 years on the factory battery.
When it died, it died, dead as could be, even though it was load tested during an oil change a few months before. I tried jumping it from other cars, and one of those portable jump starters.
Somehow AAA was able to get it started, they must have a super dooper jumper.
Luckily it was in my garage.
I should have known better and just replaced it sooner.

Yep, experienced the same with those 3 brands when I was working part-time at a Tuffy automotive center. Of those 3, Exide was the worst, Interstate 2nd worst of the 3, and Die Hard varied. The very old Die Hards lasted a long time, the newer Die Hards didn't.

What is Menards? Is it a farm store? Home improvement store? Sounds like what a pirate would say after slipping while stepping over the deck rail.

Faithful Optima supporter here. I don't care that they moved their manufacturing to Mexico because the battery and warranty are still the same.

I visit family in Minnesota every summer and spend a lot of time and $$$ in both Menard's and Fleet Farm. Haven't been there since 2019 so I'm sure I'll have the car filled pretty full this next trip.

I normally get good longevity out of my Vette battery's. I put a battery tender on any time its going to sit for more than two days. Then it sits on tender for the 6 bad months up here.
Same with the boat battery it is removed and winters in the garage with a tender on. Due to the bouncing around boat batteries get long life is not usually a option. I have got as many as 7 seasons off my boat battery.
Tip, if your going to let a battery set for periods put it on a tender. In most cases it will give you much longer battery life!

I have had good luck with Rural King batteries for many years. Use to be able to find ammunition there also.

I had the vette on a Battery Tender from Day 1, probably why it lasted so long.

Ya’ll need to get those vette’s out daily and blow the soot out of them and smoke the tires. That will keep the battery charged. Those cars were meant to be driven, not to stack junk on them in the garage!

And higher price doesn't always mean better quality but if you're happy I'm tickled pink.
No need to get excited and go throwing exclamation points all around.

I agree, sometimes less expensive does work out better.
