I am an older guy and kinda set in my ways. When I watch TV, I watch it on my Charter/Spectrum system only. I don't have a smart TV, don't do streaming, Netflix, etc. I really like Yellowstone, and would like to watch 1883, Seal Team (which has recently moved to Paramount +), and some other shows on that channel. Who here has Paramount+! and is it worth what you pay? Can I watch it without a smart TV? Don't want to watch on my phone.......to small. Thanks for any direction.

I do most of my watching on a desk top pc. 27" high definition monitor with some nice amplified speakers. Perfect for solo watching - natural triangle with r speaker, l speaker and me in the middle. I tried a 32" curved screen but did not like it. Costco is easy to deal with - returned the 32" and got a 27" ultra high def. picture is amazing and wired 200 Mbps broadband from Spectrum is rock solid.

I pay for no cable tv but buy the youtube streaming package with the Starz/Encore as an $8 month extra. Total price is around $75 a month and up til now none of those nickel/dime fee/taxes that end up adding 25% to the bill. You tube tv gives you unlimited strorage for things you want to record - super simple and it's ez to build a nice library.

They probably have a free trial.

At 67, I guess I fall into the category of an "older guy", lol. We dropped our Spectrum service a couple months ago. Our total bill for internet and TV had gone past the $250 mark a while back, and we just didn't watch enough TV to justify it. That, and our electric co-op got into the broadband game and has fiber optic with speeds up to 1 GB. We went with their top tier internet, and now use Youtube TV. We only got their basic service which I think is about 85 channels - including all the local channels. I think it saved us over 100 bucks a month, and we're happy with it. We also get a ton of commercial free TV programming with the wife's Amazon Prime account. You will need a smart TV for all of that, but I think it's worth it.

Edit to add: You can also watch Youtube TV on a smart phone (from anywhere), a tablet, desktop or laptop computer - or a "smart" TV. You may even be able to watch it on a "dumb TV" using some of those other new fangled gadgets, but those are beyond the realm of my tech knowledge.

I'm moving pass 70 and I no longer have cable. You can buy a smart TV or a do-hicky (I think thats the technical term) that plugs into your dumb TV and makes it smart. Streaming services are cheaper than Spectrum and there are no annoying 5 minute commercials. Plus there are other free services like Tubi and Pluto that do have commercials but the commercials are much shorter. Tubi & Pluto (there are others) generally offer older movies and TV series which I like. If you live near a city you can get a digital antenna to get the local news or any TV stations you do want to see. All of this cheaper than one month of Spectrum. Only downside is you now literally have hundreds (thousands?) of shows at your finger tips and it can be pretty overwhelming at first. And did I mention you can it pause anytime to get a beer or go to the bathroom, or go to bed and come back later to watch the ending.

We have all the premium channels Optimum Altice offers. We also get Netflix and Amazon Prime. We also have 5 TV's of which 3 are Smart TV's. Soooooooo

BOTTOM LINE:

95% of the time I watch the old black & white movies on TMC or Documentaries on the History channel and alike and my wife's favorite it the Hallmark channel. The ONLY reason I get he high end package from Altice is because they offered it as their best deal and is even less expensive then the lower packages.

It's a moot point after the Holidays we will be moving anyway. That said, there is not much to watch in newer movies and shows. Netflix and Amazon are no great shakes either.

PS: A year ago I purchased a new high end UHD 4K TV and after trying it out for several weeks I down-tuned the capability because many of the old movies & shows we watch are ridiculous in the UHD format. They look "fake" and surreal so I turned those features off. Live & learn!

OMG!

I few years ago I was in the same situation. We got Prime video as a result of all of the Amazon orders that my wife places, and her brother bought a subscription to Disney for the kids.

I tell you what - I am addicted to never having to sit through another Joe Namath commercial EVER AGAIN!

Streaming without commercials is divine. I can't tolerate free TV anymore, and now with the streaming services, I realize just how much **** occupies more than half of the viewing time.

I don't see where anyone has answered the question . I'm also interested in Paramount+ . Yellowstone is about the only show I watch on regular(?) tv . The new show , 1883 , looks like it's about the Dutton family going west and scratching out the ranch .

EDIT: Paramount is included with your basic live stream internet package.
I'm 60, but not too old to learn a few tricks.
If you're still watching cable or satellite you're in the dark ages and paying a stupid amount each month for it.
You should be streaming it from your internet source, our bill went from $250 a month down to $70 with more channels.
If you don't have a smart TV, just buy a Firestick and your all set (USB port needed).
You never lose signal in bad weather and you can add any channel just by adding that particular app.
Quit wasting your money today on an antiquated system that only older people use keeping them in business!

We have Paramount+ and run it through a Firestick. If your tv has a usb port this is an option. We paid for the 1 year subscription with no commercials, I think it was $99. Enjoy it, just wish they wouldn't put ru paul front and center.

Watch Yellowstone here uncut and commercial free. Don't know how or why this is free but it is and it works for me. Also site has many free movies.

Watch Yellowstone full HD on Freemoviesfull.com Free

03hemi , normally I would agree with you . But my wife is management with AT&T , thus we only pay taxes and fees for Dish . If it wasn't for that it would have been gone long ago . I just thought of something . She was part of a test group for AT&T's streaming project . Maybe I can access it through that .
