Tabasco "Extra Hot" Scorpion Sauce
Has this been available for a while or is it new? Anyone tried it? I noticed it at the grocery store this morning for the first time and couldn't pass it up. Most of the "very hot" versions of most hot sauces aren't, but here's hoping Scorpion is the real thing, with flavor, too, of course.

It’s old enough that I got my first bottle in the reduced section at Kroger. I’m currently working on my second bottle. It has a great flavor, but it does pack a punch!
Only use a couple of drops, until you build up your tolerance.
Edit to add:
I did some digging.
Regular Tabasco is listed at 2,500 on the Scoville scale.
Tabasco Scorpion sauce is listed at 50,000 SHU’s.
If that’s not hot enough, get a bottle of Da’ Bomb Ground Zero. It’s listed at 234,000 SHU’s!

One negative point after reading the box label; it's pretty high in sodium like most or all of the cheap hot sauces. Scorpion has about six times the sodium content of regular Tabasco, which is only 35 mg. per teaspoon.

It's just an old mans curiosity but if eating something hot enough to burn holes in your insides why worry about sodium? Larry

It’s 20X hotter than regular Tabasco sauce. A teaspoon of that stuff is a lot!

I love hot sauces of all kind. But at some point the heat things gets a little silly. It has to have some flavor other than surface of the sun hot.

The Tabasco scorpion sauce has a good hit to it, I like it better than the original.

As both Billy Wilder and Robert Palmer said: "some like it hot."

I worked in Colombia for awhile. Colombian food is normally on the mild, if not bland, side, but they had a bottled sauce there which was far hotter than anything I had tried in the USA. One or two drops was enough. Beyond that, food became inedible, at least to me. I don’t remember its name.
My favorite is a Mexican import sauce called San Luis, sold at the Texas supermarket chain H-E-B. Only medium hot, but it has a very good taste. Not thin and watery like Tabasco sauce, closer to Cholula, but better. I put it on everything. No idea how much sodium it has, as I don’t care.

I loves me some endorphin rush but 580K is my "cry uncle" point.
PS: I've never had stomach or intestinal issues due to the consumption of incendiary foods.

Be careful what you ask for…
Back when I worked in an office, a group of us single guys would regularly go out for lunch. One of our favorite restaurants was the Bangkok Kitchen. We got to be good friends with the owner and were on a first name basis. He took great pride in raising, roasted and grinding his own Thai peppers.
Over time, we were ordering our Pad Thai hotter and hotter. One day, a fellow engineer named Jim with a great sense of humor ordered “Pad Thai Pigeon, flaming stool hot”. The pigeon crack ticked the owner off, so he taught him a lesson.
Jim’s lunch came out dark red. After one bite, he got a severe case of the hick-up’s and had to choke down an entire pitcher of ice water. The owner took it away and brought him another plate. When he put it on the table, he told Jim “You no do that again”.

Anything beyond Franks Hot or Louisiana Gold is a non-starter for me. I don't need too much heat I like the flavor.

I use Carolina Reaper to make Franks Red Hot hotter. Have some *** Kicking hot sauce with Scorpion peppers and it doesn’t agree with me. Add a couple drops at a time of the Carolina Reaper to get the heat level I like in Frank’s Red Hot. Working with Millers Habanero sauce now cause Frank’s has too much sodium. Larry

The Tabasco brand has always had a disagreeable metallic taste to my tongue, and it seems to be the only brand served in restaurants for some reason...My favorite red sauce is Trappey's Red Devil, but I always buy Louisiana Brand because it's sold in quart bottles which makes it a little cheaper... ...Ben

I love "hot" sauce and eat it on nearly everything. I find Tabasco to have lots of heat with little taste ( for me).The new Extra Hot Scorpion Sauce must be crazy stuff. So a few years ago I switched to Franks Original Red Hot Sauce. I buy it in pint size bottles.

It has a good flavor but it IS hot. Can't slather it on like the original.
To me, it has a hint of pineapple on the finish.

I've tried the Tabasco Scorpion twice since buying it yesterday; this morning on grits along with some green chile sauce and jack cheese. It's a good addition to the ready and handy everyday condiment stock. The bottle orifice is tiny for a reason - to prevent the user from overdoing things. It's certainly worth a taste.
I'm always trying new hot sauces and have for years. It's been hard to find a non-worthy one, but the cheapest ones all taste about the same and have minimal heat; still better than nothing. A meal without a little fire is truly a dull meal.
After trying many hot sauces, I still find regular Tabasco (thin and runny as it may be) the closest to an all around hot sauce. It's the only emergency hot sauce I carry in my car.

I always keep a small bottle of San Luis sauce in the glove boxes of each of my vehicles. I refill them as needed from the 28 ounce bottle of San Luis at home using one of those large needle syringes used for injecting marinade into turkeys before roasting.

When I lived in Florida one of our neighbors was an elderly lady that made her own kumquat/jalapeno jelly. It was curiously tasty. I have never seen it in the wild again.

Franks original is my default. If I want something hotter, I have Tabasco.
I'm in NEPA. Garlic and crushed red pepper are a more common spice due to the many residents of Italian heritage here.
Although putting a few drops of Franks on Old Forge pizza improves it.
