Arby's...We have the meats

Soylent Green anyone ? All sorts of stories about what went into the sausage in Mob controlled establishments-cf. the scenes in Sattriales in The Sopranos.

May be a response to a comment I made when entering an Arby's one evening and I was told, "Sorry, we're out of roast beef".
I told them, "That's like KFC being 'out of chicken'!?"
Don't guess their manager was a candidate for 'employee of the month' . . .

Perhaps an enterprising soul was preparing a back-up plan . . . .

Once I walked into the Raton, NM KFC and their Greasetrap was stopped up and backing up.
It was several years before I could actually go into another KFC!
Drive Through!

Unfornituely as a piping apprentice I learned way too much about grease traps. I realy do not like KFC that much but basically any restaurant grease trap is nauseating.

I use to work for a Texas construction company that built hundreds of chain store restaurants per year like Pizza Huts, KFC, Grandy's, Taco Bell, etc. We did remodeling on a lot of Church's Chicken in the South East and I remember one of our construction superintendents said the sight and smell of blood was so bad he said he would never eat chicken again.

Back in the day when I was an OTR truck driver was sent many times to chicken processing plants to pick up loads of frozen chicken. You could pick up that awful smell a 1/2 mile down the road. Was years before I could eat chicken again. Oddly enough I never had the same problem when picking up beer loads from Anheuser-Busch or Miller.

Slicers

I’m going to hold off buying Arby’s beef ‘n’ cheddar until they do a nation-wide DNA check of all the meat slicer particles.
