I'm struggling with all the drones being used everywhere. Not talking about who is using them or what they are being used for. Not talking about high-altitude military drones. Also thinking about the expensive weapons being used to drop drones.

I'm thinking 12 gauge. Slugs for the heavier ones, and buckshot for the multitudes.

Shotguns can be made for the occasion. Longer barrels with full chokes for lead. Shorter barrels with modified chokes for buckshot. Multi-barrels for shooting of drones would require a mount of some sort. I like the mobility and expense of a shotgun. Maybe bring back the old punt guns of waterfowling many moons ago.

I know six men in a duck blind can put a hurting on incoming mallards or wood duck flybys. No capacity limits.

Now I personally wouldn't deploy decoys, though I would hate to place large blinds as sitting ducks.

Heck, maybe a focused force of air to tip them.

Saw a picture today of a multi-barreled shotgun on a rooftop in Moscow, and one lone guard. Someone else is thinking buckshot.

Anyone wish to add innovative thoughts, please do. It may become a much larger problem to solve.

The FAA forced drone operators to register, and apply an FAA number to all our RC aircraft.

To the letter of the law, what you propose is the same as firing on a maned aircraft due to that FAA " tail number" and a relative lack of differentiation in the law.

This is absolutely correct. Drones of greater than a certain weight are required to be registered as aircraft, just like manned airplanes of any type. The law does not differentiate between shooting at drones or any other type of aircraft. People have been prosecuted for shooting at drones already so be warned, it is a federal felony!

I thought I read somewhere that some states (Texas comes to mind) allow for shooting down drones over private property????

I've always been told not to shoot bullets into the air; just shot shells. I've never seen a drone, but maybe they don't come over my part of town. I know the realtors' photographers use them now. The house for sale across the street, for example, but I didn't get to see them do it.

And that weight is 0.55 lbs wet.
Those under this threshold are too small to be a legitimate problem

If I remember correctly the Fed frowns very heavily on the use of a item like that. Serious fines and other problems!
