That is ... hilarious? World class stupidity. Hard to believe someone that stupid has the intellectual wherewithal to walk around unsupervised.

(The judge's reaction is pretty much like mine, I think. He's just more polite about it.)

Bet that guy get's some serious ribbing once in the slammer.

I saw that on the news here (South East Michigan) the other day when it happened. The driver definitely isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. We was told he had to turn himself in by 1800 (6pm for non military time people). If not a warrant for his arrest would be issued.

I saw it yesterday. The look on the judge's and the perp's faces were priceless. The one I did not get to see was the poor attorney. She had to be beside herself.

This kind of blatant disregard of the law seems to accelerate daily.

If you have not seen the movie Idiocracy you should watch it. It is a comedy with some potty humor, but it prophetic in many ways.

Saw that live on a news cast.

Driving while suspended/revoked cases were my dad's favorite when he was on a grand jury. It involved 2 questions to decide to move forward with trial. Was the suspect driving? Was the suspect suspended/revoked at the time they were driving? If the answer is yes to both, then it's time to get out your best clothes, you're going to trial. Easy Peasy.

Ann Arbor MI: No comment...

If you're caught where I live in Oakland County MI with a suspended license, no registration or a bench warrant, you go to jail and don't pass go.

If you're caught in Wayne County (20 minutes away), you're issued a citation and allowed to go on your way. The jails and the court dockets are full there, so they ignore "minor" violations. Predatory felony violations are typically plead down with no time served.

Another no comment....

I take a safe drivers course every 3 years to get a 15% discount on my insurance. Also in the class are people that HAVE to take the course because of violations and they will lose their licence.

3 hour class, two nights. Once a guy shows up an hour late and was mad because the instructor wouldn't let him come in and get his certificate.

The excuse was that he fell asleep and was late and got a speeding ticket on his way. It wasn't his fault...it was the cop's fault for stopping him.

The phrase "can't make this stuff up" was common twice a year before covid. Now I have to use it TWICE A DAY.

We are all screwed. The end is near.

"You can't stop me driving!" "I need to drive to do what I have to do."

Yeah, I've heard/read all those and more on both sides of the Atlantic. The second one we get here in Vegas a lot. People bail from another state thinking they can walk away from warrants and unpaid fines, but a suspended license seems to stick even harder than either of those circumstances.

Hard to believe someone that stupid has the intellectual wherewithal to walk around unsupervised.

What's even worse is that he's allowed to vote...and to breed! Think about that for a moment. What kind of woman is going to be attracted to that kind of guy enough to bear him children? You can bet the ranch she sure as heck won't be a member of Mensa International. In addition, can you imagine what their kids would be like? Like the old saying, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.":D

A lack of meaningful deterrents breeds apathy. Doesn’t appear this judge is one one of those woke pushovers.

Similar story about a year ago:

Guy with a suspended driver license didn't want to get busted for driving so he called for an Uber to take him to the bank, then wait for him outside. After robbing the bank he had the Uber driver take him home with a cash bundle/die package detonating in his pocket.

Responding officers broadcast vehicle description from the surveillance cameras, cops stopped the Uber driver who led them right back to Bozo's house.

Another favorite:

Guy walks into the bank lobby and robs a teller, on camera. Walks out the door and around the side of the building, on camera. Then he deposits the cash to his own account at the ATM machine, on camera.

Just a few months ago:

Couple of criminal geniuses in Colorado robbed a check cashing store, leaving their stolen car parked and running outside. Their getaway car was stolen while they were inside doing the dirty deed.

No shortage of such examples.
