Twisters movie review
Another couple invited us to see the Twisters movie Sunday afternoon and I wasn't really interested but then the idea of sitting in a cold dark theater sounded better than being out in the 93 degree heat so we went. Plus we got the matinee price and the senior discount. I figured out real quickly I better shut off the analytical part of my brain because it was the typical overdone, cheezy, Hollywood flick. Once I did that and just sat back and tried to enjoy the show, things got a little better. The loudmouth, yee-haw boys from Arkansas in the beginning was a bit annoying but I will say the photography and computer generated images or whatever they're called, seemed better than average. Did I mention the movie was overdone? I've lived in Oklahoma most of my life and seen lots of tornadoes but I guess they wanted to make the show a little more exciting. My wife and the other couple thought the show was really good, I thought it was better than being out in the heat and I didn't hear the F word every few seconds like most of the movies nowadays so I would give it a mild recommendation to go see.

I liked the Original.
Will probably watch this one when it streams.

The wife went to see it, also said it was over the top and that whoever created CGI should be shot.

Were they able to top the in your face look of the tornado in the Wizard of Oz?
A fabric tube, a dolly and an air hose pushed my young self back on my heels the first time I'd seen the movie.

Yep, tornado was terrorizing but those flying monkeys!
All that was pretty impressive through our Philco B&W TV, back in the day.

At the theater I saw the previews for the new Wizard of Oz movie coming out called "Wicked". The previews looked pretty impressive.

No our A/C works fine at home but we just built a new house and if I were home my wife would want to drag me out in the heat and go shopping for decorations and window treatments.

I once had a good friend who was a professional storm chaser. Really. He was in the Guinness Book for chasing the most tornadoes. He didn’t think much of the first Twister movie.

Missus Smiff sez......
... you sound like a man after our own hearts. But I don't think I'm interested in seeing that one. Especially paying money for it.

Did anyone notice when the real nasty twister hit the movie theater at the end the place never lost power?
I got drug to it kicking and screaming by Mrs. Sheepdawg, I thought it was way overdone.
