Some contexts. I live alone, there is deer, coyotes, wild hogs and I found evidence there is or was cougars out here. So, I almost always keep a gun on me when I am outside or walking. I don't keep my dog tied down because there is no shade where I am parked and don't want her to be defenseless if something tries to attack her. I also have alarms on my doors.

I bought my allegro and rented land it's on to restore it. I love it out here. I'm all alone and basically camping. I moved out here with my Torino and dog.
My parents gave me another dog during the last half of summer.
He was a very friendly stray my parents took in from work. I decided to take him in and take care of him. I had him for less than a month before he went missing. I did not think much of it because he has a history of climbing into people trucks. And I live near water, pipelines and power line right of ways so there are workers that check on everything.
Less than a week later I was walking my dog after I got home from town. It was around 1630hrs. When she stopped and looked towards the woods near my allegro. I looked towards the woods where she was looking, and I can make out faint crying. I yelled out if he or she was okay. I started to get the creeps. I drew my revolver and started to back away. The crying stopped as soon as my Colt left its holster. Me and my dog quickly made my way back to my Allegro. I called my landlord, and she instructed me to call the sheriff department. The deputy that came out started to drive around the property spot lighting the woods but did not find anything. She told me it's likely a big cat since they have been reported out here. I insisted I know what I heard, and I know what big cats sound like. I had a run in with a cougar at work once. I came to believe that maybe she was right after a while.

Then out of nowhere a husky came to my allegro one day. I decided to take him in to feed him and try to find out who he belongs to. I only had him for a few days before he went missing. But my dog is still safe and sound. I knew it was odd. But I figured he simply wondered off. Well on my next off day I decided to take a nap. I flopped into bed and fell asleep. My door alarm went off. I flew up, grabbed my colt and got ready for action. I stood in my room facing towards the living room/kitchen area. Heart pounding. I approached the front of my motorhome. I found that I forgot to close my door, and the wind blew the screen door open just enough to set off my alarm.

I been doing some insane hours for the last few weeks. My real dog went missing one day. I grabbed my Tavor and colt and went hunting for her. I followed every trail; I checked every place and went driving the roads looking for her. I was upset, but I accepted she was gone. After a week she appeared out of nowhere when I returned from work. Fully fed and bathed.
I was extremely happy, but suspicious. I put her on the cable to keep her from wondering off. I had her for less than a week before she went missing again last night. Anchor and cable too. It was too late to look for her. I figured she managed to pull up the anchor and ran off. I thought she would be back by morning anyway. Well... I went looking for her and found Nike shoe prints leading to my Allegro and away alongside dog prints. That means someone kidnap my dog. And possibly was the one that took the other dogs. Even creepier, this person lives close enough to do it on foot. This person also knows my schedule and my car. This makes everything that happened in the past few months creepier than it already was. I called my landlord and the sheriff department again. The deputy took all the information and pictures of my dog. I told her about the other dogs that went missing and told her about the other incidents that I experienced out here. She instructed me to document the torino, torino parts, tools and my guns. I already done a while ago.

I am not scared of whoever is out here taking my dogs. But I am creeped out by it. I am a very experienced and trained security officer at this point. But I learned through experience just how easy it is for people to camp out near your sites without being seen. I never really trusted my surroundings out here to begin with. But this person just stolen what comfort I felt out here.

That's weird. Be careful.

Thank you. It is weird

Sounds like it's time for some discreet surveillance cameras. Didn't any of the dogs bark, or were you not home? I'd be creeped out too. Check six, often.

I put up some today. I should’ve a long time ago. I was at work each time the dogs disappeared. I wasn’t planning on living here this long. Groceries, laundry and parts has skyrocketed in price since I bought the Allegro. I was originally hoping to have it road worthy and my 351 Cleveland finished by now.

My guess is that if you have a drive around some of the odder looking trails in your area, you will find somebody else living off the grid.

as for the husky that came and went, that sounds like standard husky to me. They are first class escape artists and will happily latch on to other people. I think they have some DNA from Felix Domesticus.

That’s actually why I didn’t give to much thought about him disappearing like he did.

Strange stuff for sure.

I didn’t mention the occasional Smokey haze coming from random parts of the woods, or the night I woke up to smoke and wood burning smell strong enough that I couldn’t see far and was convinced my rv was on fire and the smell of weed.

Why not keep the dogs inside when you’re not home? I was never a fan of tying up dogs for long periods of time. To many things can happen.

I was letting her roam freely until she disappeared the first time.
I didn’t keep her inside because I worked long hours and I spent my summer making electrical repairs and replacing my ACs. She would’ve been locked inside a hot box if I did.
I found a electrical problem so bad one day that me and a electrician friend found church spent a entire night fixing it

A few “ field expedient” boobie traps will work. Wooden clothes pin with thumb tacks in each jaw, 9 volt battery, wire and an electrical igniter attached to “ a device” works very well.

I would probably end up tripping my own traps lol

I can’t figure out the quote thing …..

You have other people nearby you who have chosen not to be neighborly. Cameras as noted are an excellent idea. Next time you contact law enforcement you should be telling them all this. Perhaps keep a log to document.

I did mention all that to the first Deputy

I don’t know man. Sounds like you moved to a sketchy area and seem surprised that there is sketchy activity. If I’m reading this right, you didn’t choose the area. The area chose you because that’s where the motor home was located. I’d get any mechanical issues figured out and head on down the road. Or sleep with one eye open.

It’s actually beautiful out there. Nice and quiet. It would be perfect if it wasn’t for the odd things going on.
