This is a real good movie. Gena Rowlands in a film by her husband John Cassavetes. She has guts yet is terrified at the same time. Not super human like actors have to be today. Here she has her trusty Model 60 and of course a 3 1/2” Model 27. And a scene of her in action.

I’ll check it out if I find it on cable. That 3 1/2” Model 27 looks HUGE in her hand doesn’t it?! BTW, She’s a heck of a shot. And it was very unfortunate for the car full of bad guys, that the car they were getting ready to crash into, just happened to have a “skateboard ramp” placed at the rear driver’s side causing their car to flip over!:D

I didn’t double check it now but I think she got six shots out of her five shooter but who cares. Cowboys do that all the time in movies and we let it slide. She’s so good in this she can shoot as many bullets as she wants. Here’s the scene where she acquires the Model 27. AND BELOW THAT THE ENTIRE MOVIE FOUND ONLINE FOR FREE.

I didn't even remember what the handguns were; I was concentrating on the story. Gena Rowlands has been in some good films, but this was certainly not her best effort.

I think her best is her most mentioned movie, A Woman Under The Influence. Amazing performance in an OK movie, IMO. But she was perfect in Kirk Douglas’ best movie to me, Lonely Are The Brave.

That was also Kirk Douglas' favorite Kirk Douglas film. It was certainly one of the best films ever. Gena Rowlands performance in that film was likely her best role. Off topic, but I think Kirk Douglas' best film role was in "Last Train From Gun Hill". "Lonely Are The Brave" is a very close second, to me, anyway.
