Well it would be nice and bring home 4.2 million dollors but
hay I'm Rory

and I just won the "Grand Slam", also.

I think this young man is set for a while with all the commercial people wanting to get a hold of him !!

Talk about hitting the "Jackpot" !!

Wow.

I don’t even like golf except for watching the Masters final five holes.

Eleven year majors drought is over. Rose made a run but came up short.

I won the Masters. I was there at 15 when Nicklaus took his socks off to play his ball out of the pond. 1975.

In 1976, they cut into the bank to keep that from happening again. As with Rory's chip up from behind the green that rolled and rolled til it fell in. Had to take it back up above the pond for his 4th shot.

Grew up down there. Probably been about 70 times, but not since 2013. "A tradition unlike any other."

Another thought:

I started believing there was devine intervention at play. Some shots defied belief. Most amazing was Rory's chip in eagle on #2. I could have gotten it close. To actually make it starting the ball out 8 feet right of the hole is . . . LUCK. Getting it close is skill; getting it to fall is LUCK . . . or devine intervention.

My mom was an avid golf fan and The Masters was her favorite tournament and she followed it since it began being televised. She knew the profiles off every player. One of her wishes was to walk #13, the Azalea hole as it was her favorite.

Almost 7 years ago I mentioned this to a forum friend who he and his family are members of Augusta National. Every year he would liberate a pine cone from #13 and send it and other gift shop swag to mom.

She was so moved that she built a shrine of sorts centering around the gifts. When mom passed my sister moved the shrine to a place of prominence next to mom's rocking chair.

My friend still sends pine cones to my sister.

This is key. In the early 60s, Boy Scouts sold tickets on Broad St. Then two things happened: Television, and Arnold Palmer.

Well, not to take anything away from Rory, but he has not won a "Grand Slam". Winning all four majors over the run of one's career is considered a "Career Grand Slam" which has been done by Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and now Rory McIlroy. Hallowed ground to be sure.

Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklas have accomplished the "Career Grand Slam" 3 times.

Tiger, of course, has his own version of a Grand Slam, the "Tiger Grand Slam", having won all four majors in succession, of which Fred Couples said, "I don't know how I can put it more simply . . . if he wins all four, it's a Slam."

Me personally, no way. LOL But I was very pleased to see Rory win.

I can’t even beat my brother - and he’s not very good either.
So, No.
