24 Hour Sudafed
I find that here in AZ, 24 Hour Sudafed is no longer available.
This is the good stuff they keep behind the counter.
How about the rest of the country, can you still get it?
Without it allergies bring misery. :-(

I still get 24-hour Claritin, don't know about Sudafed, but several places still advertise it.

I'm from Oregon. Until a couple of years ago, you needed a prescription to get any medicine containing pseudoephedrine, like Sudafed.

Ask your Pharmacist...
Your Pharmacist should be able to tell you if there is anything available with pseudoephedrine in it AND if it is SAFE for you to take it considering ALL your OTHER medical conditions...

I gave up on that years ago. Go to Dollar General and buy their DG Allergy Tablets - 100 to a bottle. It's real cheap too.
I've had allergies for over 60 years and this has been a godsend.

I get the Claratin D from behind the counter at the pharmacy. You can only get it with your I.D. and only when your last purchase has run out. It comes in 12 and 24 hour dosages. I get the 12 hour and it works great!

I haven't taken real Sudafed in decades. Too much stimulation for my tastes.
The FDA in their infinite wisdom decided that the fake Sudafed, labelled Sudafed PE, does not actually work so it is being withdrawn. All I can say to that is that they never asked me, because PE works fine for me when I'm gummed up.

I don’t know about prescription, but most places keep it locked up. I prefer Sudafed for the occasional allergy or cold symptoms.

Since you have to show ID at prescription department to purchase any pseudoephedrine containing products WHY NOT ask the Pharmacist for his/her recommendation since he/she can review your prescription history and your medical conditions and make an educated recommendation OR recommend you NOT taking it at all?

FWIW: I find Sudafed very effective. I just send my Primary Care Doc a message and his office calls in a prescription that has enough for several months.

I think you need ID for it because the druggies use several non-script meds to make something like Oxycodone. I don't know all the ingredients but I remember reading about it a few years ago. The ingredients made me sick just reading about it. I saw Sudafed behind the counter at my drug store just the other day, but I've never suffered allergies.
I thought many people move to Arizona to help against allergies. I've never been that far West; probably like no further than San Antonio.

It is used to make crystal meth, hence the behind the counter and ID requirement.

I’ve never heard of 24-hour Sudafed, but I think Sudafed is still available here. Of course you have to sign for it, which does not bother me. I rarely use the stuff because it adversely affects my blood pressure (I am told), but once in a while I have to resort to it - sparingly. It works much better than other decongestants. I’d hate to see it go away completely just because of illegal druggies and the misguided reaction by stupid lawmakers.

I recall that, at least hear in the PRW, illicit drug manufacturers were purchasing the old OTC stuff by the pound so they could process it into meth. Putting it behind the counter was an attempt to slow meth manufacturing. It worked. Now they make fentanyl. Druggies gonna drug....

My wife always used it, but I can't stand it. One pill and I'm crawling the walls. I'm so nervous I vibrate. I do find Citerizine, (generic Zyrtec) also under several other names, handles most all my spring and fall allergy problems, the nose drip and the eye watering as well as the sneezing. I find it at Sam's Club, in a two pack for half the price of the Zyrtec.
