Tonight a member reported an ad they thought was hinky. Turns out he was right. The ad was placed by someone who has been a member here for a while and sold several things without any problems. Except the ad wasn't from him - it was from someone who found his password from one of the numerous data breaches, and posted the ad to try and scam someone. He almost succeeded. All the moderators jumped on this and in a matter of minutes, the scammer was banned, the buy was notified to hold on to his money (and he did!) and all is well. At least this time.
