    My 32cal. S&W Carry Weapon

If I were to carry my 31, it would be loaded with 92-98 gr SWC. I want to ensure that it penetrates adequately. For those interested in speed, Speer 14 lists data for the 60 HP... as I recall, the .32 Long pushes it a tad over 1000 fps out of a 3" barrel. In my 431pd, I carry the 85 HP backed...

    My 32cal. S&W Carry Weapon

Last I checked with Speer, it was going to be awhile before they are released. Too much blast with a .327? I have not found that to be an issue with mine. I rather enjoy shooting it. 1400 fps (chrono'd) with the 115 Gold Dot. It really isn't much different than shooting my 3" model 60...

Interesting conversation with S&W this morning

DocAlamo, I talked with a Ruger rep this summer. He explained that the slow down with the SP-101s was due to a retooling at the N.H. plant where the revolvers are made. Apparently there was a learning curve learning to run the new whiz-bang machinery. He did say that the SP-101 production in...

Picked up three guns yesterday (NEW PICS ADDED in REPLY!)

I'm not so sure that was a desk sergeant's model 10........... the cartridges aren't green and stuck in the cylinder and I don't see any powdered sugar from the donuts! A great find!

1984 686, no "M", send it back to the mothership, or no?

If the primers flow back into the firing pin hole with full power loads -- send it back. If you don't have any issues with primer flow -- keep it home.

    revolver research for arthritic father.

Of the so called compacts, I would recommend the SP101. It is a little heavier than the model 60s. Also, if necessary, drop down to the wadcutter target loads. They are pretty tame. They also cut a neat .358 hole. I have arthritis in my thumbs and had to give up shooting autos as they drive...

Why did you choose a revolver over a semi auto for carry?

Started with a revolver, carried a semi-auto for the majority of my career. However I have developed arthritis in both thumbs. The semi drives the recoil into the thumb and it hurts like crazy, even with a 9. The revolver places the recoil lower in my hand and does not bother the thumb...
