    Found a 27-3 shooter....

I'm going to agree with your intuition. It's come back home to you, go with your heart. It's your gun and your story. It will run it's course and live on. I support either. Run and gun it or refinish it to your liking.

    Progress at the range.

Thank you sir. I hear you. Makes me smile now. I remember years ago when I couldn't hardly get a group on a silhouette target at that range.

    Progress at the range.

I was shooting off my plastic ammo box. I've been shooting fist sized groups with my red dot at that distance. I decided to see how my old eyes and the open sights worked. I am impressed with the accuracy this pistol is capable of.

    Progress at the range.

I've been working up a load for my 327 TRR8. 158 grain magnum load at 25 yards. One cylinder full in SA. HiViz fiber optic front sight.

    Should I be upset?

I agree they are generous at times in respect to original ownership. Regardless if the gun looks good to you or not, they implied it would be taken care of. He sent pictures in and they sent a shipping label to him after confirming that the representative (apparently) saw a problem and suggested...

    Should I be upset?

I'd be upset. It was implied that your concern would be addressed. The fact that it was sent in and then deemed "ok!" after getting your hopes up, is just plain evil. I might be a little bias. I bought 3 new revolvers in 6 months and two went back to S&W. One shouldn't have left the factory in...

    Model 36-2

I would not sell it, since it was inherited. I would regret it after it's gone. Get some original grips and maybe a Tyler grip adapter and shoot it.

Picked these stocks up at a LGS yesterday.

Bummer, I guess I need to trade the N frame Magnas for maybe some J frame RB I can use or something. I've streamlined my wheel gun collection to snub nose revolvers. The exception being the 327.

Picked these stocks up at a LGS yesterday.

Thanks, I had no idea the Hogue medallion grips where available. I had to do a search. Early 90's? I can't believe they went to the rubber imprint of the medallions. Could they save that much money by not using the medallions? Now I have to find a SB snub nose N frame in .357 for the Magna...

Picked these stocks up at a LGS yesterday.

I picked these up yesterday. I admit I didn't like the original grips that came with the 327. I switched them out for the rubber Hogue without the finger grooves. These seem to work for me though. I guess those medallions just make them more tolerable or maybe their just a tad smaller. The...

    Broke my 686

Restore it to original. Cross your fingers and send it back through a FFL. If you contact them direct they will say that the warranty is only valid through the original purchaser. They seem to wave the usual 50 questions if it's sent in through a FFL. Just put a note in the box addressing your...

    help with a 19-4

If indeed this is this case then applying tension/resistance to the knurled end of the ejector rod and dry firing the cylinder might tighten it enough to open. If I'm not mistaken it would be reversed threaded and in theory this would work. Allowing for a little creative tightening. Disclaimer...

    help with a 19-4

Will the cylinder rotate? If so, then maybe remove the yoke screw and see if that relieves any tension. If that doesn't do anything then removing the side plate might be in order. If you're not comfortable with that, then yes. take it to a gunsmith. Congrats on a fine find!

How long does it take for S&W to contact you after -

Not to be a downer here, but I hope you have better results than I did/am getting. I recently sent two revolvers back for warranty work. The first one I had to call, email, email, and finally call again before I received a reply(about 3 weeks). When I finally spoke with someone they informed...

What Super Velocity do I have?

I learned a lot from this thread. It's taken me to a few different informative reads.
