I thank everyone for the replies, at first I thought it was broken, I've shot it and it is very accurate and smooth. I'm surprise I was able to shoot it double action that well, I think it will stay as is.

grips Kinda, less agressive finger grooves, It could of been. Do they make those for the 629?

I saw a brand new N frame today with what looked like redesigned houge grips on a 629. more like a less agressive version, finger groove wise. Does anyone know where they are getting them? I don't see them on the Houge, or S&W sites.

629-1 6" update Ended up sending 629 in to be repaired, Barrel was loose from firing, cost was $86.00 to repair. Sight aliegnment is now perfect, well worth the money. although a tad shorter.

I've got two S&W 629's with 6" -supposedly- barrels. I measured them from forcing cone to muzzles. 5 3/4" on one, 5 7/8" on the othere. I assumed they would be much closer to the 6". Any thooughts?
