I paid $705 for my 686 no dash about 2 months ago. It might be on the higher side but I am very happy with it. Finish is just like when it came out of the box 30+ years ago. Of course, I added Ahrend grips in cocobolo the first day I brought it home.
I got my 686 no dash about 2 weeks ago. I haven't shot it yet but when I shake the revolver, I am hearing some kind of clinking sound. It sounds like it is coming from the hammer area. I took the grips off but could not find anything loose in the grip area.
Got my very first revolver last night, a 686 no dash. First thing I did today was clean it and replace the grips with Ahrend Retro Combat Stocks in Cocobolo finish.
I just got a 686 no dash model and am looking for some aftermarket wood grips for it. The revolver is actually in its way from MN to MD right now. Does it have a square or round butt? I have a couple of pistols and rifles but this is my very first revolver.
I had to back out from the 686-1 that I found a couple of days ago because of the ported barrel. I am still in the hunt for a 586 nickel or a 686 with a 4 inch barrel.
