I got my 686 no dash about 2 weeks ago. I haven't shot it yet but when I shake the revolver, I am hearing some kind of clinking sound. It sounds like it is coming from the hammer area. I took the grips off but could not find anything loose in the grip area.

The rattle you hear is from the hammer block and is perfectly normal.

Unless you are familar with the insides don't take the sideplate off...that little piece can just fall out and if you don't get it back in correctly it will not work. I know, trust me...I didn't think I was ever going to figure out how it went back in so my 637-2 would work again. I hear it rattling in there now . If you must take off the side plate leave the gun lying flat on the table so it won't fall out. Been there done that....Gary
