    A real Diplomatic Security Model 19 ( That isn't)

Not what is known as a DSS Model 19 in the collector community , but this is the Model-19 my father carried when he was in DS (~83-01) . The DS M19 is a 2.5" barrel , but agents were able purchase their own to carry . My father prefered the 4" barrel . This was his service firearm from about 83...

Very Rare Smith & Wesson revolver-DSS

Correct, my father was in DS from 1983 until 2001 . I am sorely tempted by this 19 . I remember his rather fondly (as well as his 228). He never carried it . At the time you could opt to carry a personally owned 19 . He carried a 4" (that he still has) . He is a large framed 6'2" guy and he said...

Where has all the powder gone?

Actually the powder they sell is different then powder used to load commercial ammo . Component powder is engineered to be the same , lot to lot. Bullseye sold 10 years ago better match a lot made yesterday. Powder used to load ammo by a manufacturer varies lot to lot and has to be tweaked...

    686-4

Nice, I paid $725 for a 686-3 2.5" a couple of months ago. It was a FtF sale, so I figured it was fair since there was no shipping/FFL fee

    Picking a nickle S&W , pitfalls ?

I have stainless , and blued , so obviously now , I need a nickle finished S&W of some type . Are there any obvious signs that it is a factory original nickel finish across models ? I know the ejector is blued on most, but all ? Picking up a used gun what should I look for as far as a "good"...

    S&W Airweight .38 special revolver

The 340PD is an AirLite in .357 / .38 , but again not pleasant to shoot in .357

S&W model 43C thoughts and opinions

I have no idea how I just learned of the 43c today, I am thinking I might like one now. I have been kind do wanting a 442 pro, the 2 would be a good pair.

    Play between yoke and frame

Nope, can't tell it's there at all .

    Play between yoke and frame

New yoke screw came in today. It matches up just perfectly and I have no play anymore, so that is fixed. When I called S&W they said the back and forth "play" was "normal" but I took some pictures and followed up with an email. So we will see if the can fix the yoke .

On the way from Brownells :) Says it's bead blasted, any good way to polish it to match ?

OK, screw and yoke end. Looks like the "dimple" is a little large maybe ??

    M&P9c unboxing

Isn't an "unboxing" supposed to contain some pics ?

    Play between yoke and frame

Yeah I'll do that now that I figured out what a yoke screw exactly was :o I am very new to any sort of "revolver-smithing" , but I have detail stripped Sigs, Berettas , and 1911s . Installed triggers , fitted some 1911 parts , built an AR15 from components , so I think I should try out...
