Just picked up my 9c yesterday. Test fired in late December 2013, shipped 4-4-14. 2 dimples on the bottom of the barrel. No mag safety, no thumb safety.

Going to run at least 100 through it tomorrow at my outdoor range

what do the 2 dimples stand for? thanks,

I think that the dimples represent the newer faster twist barrels. Someone will correct me if I am wrong!

The dimples are an indication of part of the manufacturing process. If they related to the twist rate, then the 2 dimple and 1 dimple would have different twist rates, but they don't.

I agree and I think the barrel dimples are like the dimples on the slide and indicate which machine made them (or milled them after forging). That way if they have a rash of problems they can trace it back to a certain machine.

I got the 12 round in the mag without a loader, but it wasn't fun

The dimples on the barrel are indeed manufacturing marks for trace-ability. I've also got two new springs and followers in the mail for my problematic magazine loading!!!!

Come on!! Pics or it didn't happen!!!

Got a 9C (1 Dimple) too (and a FS). Love it!!

(oh and Uplula!!)

I herd that 1 dimple is twist rate change and 2 means twist and a lock up change . I have a full size mp 9 L.E with the square barrel chamber but no dimple
