Hearing her two little dogs yapping up a storm late one night my MIL, who lived alone, brandished a tiny potmetal semiautomatic Titan .25acp to scare off an intruder who was attempting to to break in her kitchen door. I was unaware she owned a firearm at the time, and was kind of bemused that...

What is this groove in the barrel?

Grandson wants to buy a co-worker’s S&W AR 15, but was wondering what that cut/groove inside the handguard for.

    Are these old ivory grips?

And are they for an antique S&W? My dad brought them out of Mexico about 60 years ago, and they were not attached to a gun.

My (New to me) Model 49 -

I bought my humpback Model 38 Airweight from a Texas LEO twenty years ago. He had carried it as a backup to his Kimber .45. I like the option of the single action feature.

    M&P 15 vs M&P 15 SPORT II

Yep, I bought one of those “slick side” Sports years ago, but gave it to one of my sons. It was a fun little shooter. Think I’ll Replace it with a Sport II.

    M38 manufacture date?

My Model 38-3 made in 1997 has the firing pin in the frame.

    Model 63

Here is my youngest grandson today shooting a 1981 vintage Model 63 in the Texas Hill Country. His first time shooting a handgun - after a year of BB gun & .22 single shot rifle instruction. I gave that neat little pistol to his older brother (now 15) last year as a b'day gift:

So I wanted a Colt SAA **Updated with Grashorn's"

Good job then! Maybe I'll get off my butt and shoot mine. Am itching to shoot this Ruger NV too - 6 months old & still a virgin.... Those Grashorns are beauliful - I have thought about having Patrick make some for the new Vaquero to replace the Altamont "bonded ivory" (epoxy). How long did it take?
