My (New to me) Model 49 -

I bought my No Dash 49 in the late 90's about $169. Refinished with a Teflon coating called Metal-life. It's been my EDC for about 20 years. I've never pulled it from my pocket, but reaching for got me out of hot water 3 times!

At my farmhouse I had a 30-year war with invading raccoons. I have shot them off the gutter several times, running on the ground a few times and once through narrow gap in the limbs straight up 35 feet (right between the eyes!)

I guess you could say they won, I killed over 200 and they are still coming.

I already posted my 49 in #3. I carried it everywhere, everyday for 20 years.
In 1995 another dept was going from revolvers to autos and they were selling their revolvers to their officers. Their range officer called and asked if I wanted one of their 649s. They had 3 that had never been issued. He was buying 2 and offered the 3rd one to me. $150. I started carrying the 649 and the 49 went into the quick grab going out the door status.
When I retired in 2006 my wife fixed up the 649 which she thought I'd put in a retiree display box. It was a very nice thought except putting it in a display box meant I wouldn't be carrying it. No way that was happening. It's too nice to carry to put in a box. So I still carry it today just like the day she fixed it up.

Took me until I was 70 to finally find one of these in decent shape. It's got a ding on the front sight but otherwise pretty good. It's one of the few I've shot recently & it works like a charm. OP's 49 is unobtanium around here although I haven't been scrounging around too much.
