Photo showing my problem. The spring snapped where it was supposed to rest on the right arm on the hammer stirrup. The arm snapped at an earlier point a few years back, the gun functioned after that and is still functional, but i don't think this is something that will last.
Can somebody...
44-40 Frontier DA, yes.
If i'm not mistaken the 44 Russian has the same configuration only difference is the lenght of the cylinder and the barrel? So maybe i can source a dog of a 44 russian and butcher it for parts?
Is there any modern equivalent spring that would work as a replacement?
Also looking for a new hammer stirrup as the spring and the stirrup has broken of on one side. Wondering where i can find such parts.

I haven't seen any photos of similar .38 safety hammerless revolvers with the same type latch other than on the first model .32s.
It is interesting how they went back and forth with the latch on these models and later on settled with the earlier...
Found this while searching the interwebs. The second revolver from the top is supposed to be a third model 38, but it has the same latch as a .32 first model.
You wouldn't happen to be Norwegian would you? Since 1890 is the cut-off date for antiques in Norway.
I've found a factory letter that would indicate that they produced at least up to 20000 revolvers in first production year.
Those speeds are impressive. What about .32 S&W long with black powder? Have you chronographed that?
Cant really seem to find any information about actual tests done on that caliber in its original configuration.
