.44 Special Hand Ejector, 2nd Model, with Ropers, yet again...

They used to have a left hand thumb rest. The profile of the right panel is pretty common to Ropers with a thumb rest. I've always called that the finger shelf.

Another set of Roper Target Stocks?!

Tim, Yes it was me .... posted several pics probably 8-9 years ago now. Grandpa had about 60+ sets of Ropers, about 40 Sandersons, and a few old Herrett. I'm sure the stocks in question aren't Roper, or Sanderson, or Herrett. Fitz made wood stocks but I don't think they actually made the wood...

Another set of Roper Target Stocks?!

I'd say those are not Roper for several reasons. I've never seen a Roper with only one diamond, one sided ribbon yes, single diamond, no. Every Roper I've seen that has a thumbrest, the thumbrest shelf is checkered at a minimum, and often also grooved along with the checkering. On a Roper stock...

    The one that got away

The red ramp is original. Many of those 4" guns came in bright blue with the left side small logo, red ramp, and smooth rosewood stocks just like that one. I have an exact twin that letters, at least 2 others I remember on this forum have, or had that exact configuration also. Maybe one will...

    The one that got away

The original listing was a $900 start with reserve .... typical. Then as if by magic it was buy it now and sold .... right now. Funny how that happens. Same thing on E-barf, 50% of the "good" stuff either gets pulled before auction end or changed to "buy it now" while the real prearranged via...

    Aftermarket "vintage" presentation case

Does anyone remember the company that made those dark blue vinyl covered hard cases with purple french fit velour interiors? Think they were made in the 1950's .... maybe 60's, possibly in Illinois. Merlindrb has a picture of one in his gallery. I think I've also seen some in the past with a...

THANKS SDH, which gun deserves these Rosewoods Magnas?

I'd put them on the pinto ..... special stocks for a more unusual configuration. They look great on all of them though.

Hey Doc, need help with grips?

Those GA - NR smooth targets are beautiful and much harder to find than so called checkered "cokes". They pre date them and should also have the ever so slight palm swell. The swell can vary slightly between sets of the same era. Personally, I'd pay more for non relieved smooth targets than any...
