Thanks for all the replies. No box or other goodies. The stocks are 121423 so they are right period but not a match. If anyone has the revolver S121423 let me know and I'll give you a great deal on some matching stocks!:D All in all pretty much confirmed that I have a nice shooter (which it is!)

I stumbled across this beauty at a Cabella's a while back and got it at a nice price. I don't see a lot of these pre-28 HPs. Serial number S130xxx puts it mid-50s. How scarce and any opinions as to value? I'm not selling but just curious.

I use the plastic storage drawers that fit under my bed. I have three: one for kydex semiautos, one for leather semiautos, and one for revolvers. Another set of drawers for mag and speedloader pouches.

not sure why we are limited to choosing a SHORT barreled revolver. I don't see any advantage of short over longer (4+") barrel and some possible disadvantages (shorter site radius and more muzzle blast). Anyway, my set-up is a Sig so I voted semi-auto just to vote, but I don't necessarily...

I think varmint243 has it about right for a 4" gun in good shape without box and papers...$550-700. You will find a few asking more but you should be able to find one in that range with a little hunting.

so what did we decide? Are the ILs okay to use with +P loads??

I'll throw another vote in for a 4" L-frame in 357 mag...(686, 586, 681, or 581). Hard to beat the versatility and durability.

Really nice! Love the stocks! 5" Model 27s are among my favorites...they just look "right"!
