Just picked up a very nice 5" Model 27-2 from a forum member. Doesn't appear to have been shot much, and the action is simply perfect. No need for any tuning of any type.

It came wearing a set of smooth target grips, but since I had a set of Culina Checkered Classics on a gun I intended to sell, it just made sense to move them to the new gun. Perfect fit along the backstrap, very comfortable and they handle the sharp recoil of full power loads very well indeed.

Tried a variety of ammo in the gun and was not happy how it shot most of the ones I tried. Not awful, just not the guilt edge accuracy I've come to expect from a 27-2. Winchester's 145 grain Silvertip was accurate but almost impossible to acquire. So, on a whim I tried American Eagle 158 grain JSP. It was by far the most accurate, and (important to me) got the sight down where it needed to be and centered up the rear sight blade.
