I bought the thumb safety as I wanted it for when others shot it and for at the range. When carrying, I just leave in in the off position and it doesn't present any problem at all. I carry OWB in a kydex holster - trigger/trigger glad is covered. I do the same with my 9 mm shield.
Nice! I recently sold the one I had - DOB lmide to late 20s - grips were not original - older than the gun - what I would call a "shooter grade" with about 85% finish. Mine was a good shooter, good lock-up and mechanically in excellent shape I got $650.00 for it - you did very well on the price!
The accurate way to find out is to "slug" your bore. Use a soft lead fishing sinker of a just larger than bore size - remove the brass eye and shank and drive the slug through your bore - make sure you oil your bore. Then you can measure with a micrometer to get an accurate measurement of just...
For killing hogs, he old standby lead 250 - 255 grain RNFP will do the job nicely. I load for my Uberti Cattleman 7 1/2" 45 Colt using the cast bullet from the old Ideal/Lyman 454-190 mold - the traditional 45 Colt bullet. I cast 'em, tumble lube them in paste wax / alox and load them over 6.5...
My 5" M & P has a serial number of C1847XX - when I posted on here a few years ago when I purchased it, I was told that mine probably shipped early in 1952 - if that helps any.
Nice looking M & P!
Interesting read.
I picked up my Shield 380 EZ the other day along with a Beretta 84 - DOB late 1970s in pristine, unfired condition. But back to the EZ . . .
I'm an older guy - a revolver guy - but I do own a 9mm Shield and like it very much and I often use it for a carry piece. I have to...
I need some help in determining what a “fair value” or “sale price” would be on the revolver that I will post photos of. I am at a point in my life that I really need to downsize and I am considering selling this revolver but need some advice from educated “Smith people” as to what it is worth...
A great little J frame - I have both the snub and the 3". The snub is my favorite carry and the 3" is just plain fun. If you get it, you won't regret it.
Thanks - I FINALLY found them - I was missing the "See More Producs" at the bottom of the page. Just a sign I'm getting old I'm guessing . . .
Appreciate the replies. Thanks of the help!
I put off getting a 45 for a year and had pretty much settled on a M & P Shield. Today, I went to the S & W site to take another gander at them and when I clicked on the spot that said M & P 45 Shield Featured, it took me to the M & P Shield M2.0 pistols but they were only shown in 9mm and 40...
