I once saw Janet Reno eating all by herself at a table in the FLETC chow hall. I thought it rather sad, but then, I did not offer to sit with her either.
Many firearms instructors will instruct students to prepare magazines. This removes any ambiguity. "Prepare a magazine with six rounds"...is clearer that "Load a magazine with six rounds"...which, to some, implies it is now time to jam the mag into the pistol when it is not.
Semantics, yes. But...
Thread drift...perhaps. Just a point that if you are going to employ a long gun, an AR platform is a better choice for many.
And yes...it penetrates less than a 9mm. Proven fact. This is a battle that I have been fighting with myopic leaders for almost 30 years. A lightweight bullet with an...
As I sit here on my sofa, my Glock 19 is out cutting my front lawn.
None of my 1911s ever offered to take part in this task. They just lay there in the safe.
Glock did have an upgrade...as depicted early. It was on early Gen 1 and some Gen 2 guns. They discovered a RARE instance caused by tolerance stacking, bad luck and magic, situations where a gun could go off under just the right circumstances under just the right phase of the moon. The old parts...

The striker is only under partial tension and is not cocked when in cruising mode. If released, it would not have enough inertia to detonate a primer.
The Sig is fully cocked...

Most people that struggle with red dots, do not understand red dots. It can be hard to switch gears from irons...where we focus our attention on the front sight.
With red dots, you look at the target...find where you want the bullet to go, and press the trigger when the dot hits that spot. Many...
I have shot 1911s more than most and I own a bunch of them.
I carry a Glock, and have so, for the past 30 years...because they work. Period. Ugly? Yep. No one cares what a gun looks like when it's needed.
As far as safety, if you don't want it to shoot, don't pull the trigger.
It's just that...
