    22LR model numbers?

Yes, the older model 18 are very nice. But to find a really nice one it is going to cost about $700 if you can find one. So after a long search I just ordered a new classic model 18 for $815 out the door. It comes with S&W lifetime warrenty.

    Model 41 sights

Have you tried sighting your gun in at 6 oclock? If you are shooting bullseye targets, sight your pistol in at just below the black round bull. That way your black sights will be sharp against the gray target paper.

Where to find out the MFG. year of my guns?

Gun history: S&W has a service, they will give the history of your firearm. But I understand it is quite expensive. Here is there customer support number if you have a interest. 1-800-331-0852.

    S&W mod. 41

To Davidus: I have a 41 with two 5.5 inch barrels. One has a reddot and the other I shoot open sights. The reddot I use is a ultra dot match from larrys guns. I think it is larrysguns.com. It goes for about $200. It has adjustment for both size of dot and brightness of dot. I really like that...

Breaking in a new Model 41

CCI standard velocity is the ammo for that pistol. If you have problems with that ammo, send it to S&W and they will fix it right.

    Model 41 Problems

I also bought a used Mod. 41. Had a lot of problems with it. I did'nt do anything to it, just sent it to S&W and they fixed it up right. New bolt, hammer and other things and did'nt charge me a dime. Great service. I shoot mine clean or dirty and it works like a fine Rolex watch all the time.

    A bit upset with my S&W 638

I bought a new S&W model 14 classic about a yr. ago. All summer long I tried to get that thing to shoot a acceptable group. No luck. So I sent it back to S&W. I got it back with a new barrel and a new cylinder. Now it shoots the way it should.

    Model 14

My new (bought it 1 yr. ago) M14 Classic is stamped on barrel for +P loads. I find that +P loads for that revolver are the most accurate by a long shot. Yes, it is worth it to me, I bought that gun for target shooting.
