Thanks, I do dispose the beat up rounds, and I was thinking the rings are because I don't keep the magazine a full 15 rounds but 14. I'll keep my mag full with the plus one in chamber and see if those rings show up. Appreciate it.

They are in my everyday concealed carry magazine (So they sit there), top round gets banged up and replaced weekly. New round goes in the bottom of the mag.

I've since purchased a Nano Vault NV300 has been a great! Wrapped the cable around the base of the car seat and put under the seat. Im not worried at all, a MUCH better solution if you have to leave your precious in the car. Walmart, Homedepot online has them, as well as ebay. $25-$35 is worth it.

I carry my FS M&P .40 everyday. Just got my Alien Gear Holster Cloak Tuck 1.0 and its great. Even carried around for awhile with just the Aegis Armory Guardian attached to my belt loop and tucked into my waist. Im 6' and 270lbs with a gut! Im comfy, handles naps too!

Ran some Fiocchi .40 SWA 170 GRS FMJTC on my FS M&P, misfed quite a bit so I stopped using it. Now I use mostly Federal through my baby and have had no Ftfs at all. Sorry Fiocchi, can't bet my life on your ammo.
