    Factory grips source

These are not Hogues, as best I can tell. They are a bit fuller in the palm, and the finger grooves are less pronounced. Also, the grip screw has an allen head. They may be Uncle Mike's, but I can't find a current source for those.

    Factory grips source

I really like the polymer grips that came on my 2 3/4" Combat Magnum. Are these available by S&W or other sources?

    Thinking of buying a 629 - 3" need opinions -

I have a Talos 3" 629 and I have been very pleased with it. Most of my shooting has been with reloaded 210-240 gr. bullets at 900-1100 fps. The Speer factory loads comparable to the reloads seem to be discontinued, but CorBon still sells a comparable load.

Compared 9mm and .40 Shield Pistols (Subjective)

I have both a .40 and a 9mm Shield, and I have been pleased with both. I've had the .40 longer, and recently acquired the 9mm while the rebate program was going on. Even though I had fired both pistols recently, I hadn't ever fired them on the same range trip. Yesterday I did a side by side...

    Maybe getting a Shield -- 9mm or 40?

I have been very happy with my .40 Shield, and after considering the current sales and rebates, I recently acquired a 9mm Shield. After 150 rds. I like it also. Time will tell which, if either, I will prefer.

First time shooting my Shield 9mm PEFECT except for

My .40 and 9mm Shields both required sight adjustment. I used the RST Gen. III Rear Sight Tool for successfully aligning the sights for both. If you don't want to buy the tool and do it yourself, the Handgunner shop in Topton was my go to place when I lived in S.E. PA. I would be very...

    Help!!! Model 66-6 cracked barrel

It came from their custom shop, and was 18 years old. I had fired it a fair amount, but never with 110 or 125 gr. bullets. The exchange was only agreed to after metallurgical testing.

    My 66-8 2.75" review

Congrats on the new revolver. I've had mine for six weeks or so, and have fired it about 650 rds., all 158 gr. loads. I like the feel and balance, and like you said, mine is more accurate than I am.

    Maybe getting a Shield -- 9mm or 40?

My Shield is .40 caliber, and I am very happy with it. The recoil is noticeable, but not that bad. Apparent recoil is actually less than a .40 Browning Hi Power. I also have 9mm pistols, larger and smaller than the Shield, and I wouldn't hesitate to carry a 9mm Shield either.

    Issues with my 66-8 2.75"

I had similar cylinder binding issues with my 66-8 2.75" at first. No problems with jacketed 158 grain bullets, but significant binding issues with 158 gr. cast bullets after 24 rounds. Not a big deal to resolve by cleaning, but annoying. After 600 or so rounds my binding issues seem to have...

    Help!!! Model 66-6 cracked barrel

I had a similar problem earlier this year with a 66 I had purchased new several years ago. Mine had rarely if ever been fired with 125 gr. or lighter bullets. I returned the piece to S&W, and after a month or so they notified me that according to their metallurgical folks it was due to a...

Single stack vs Double stack 4013/4053 width

I have the 4013 TSW, and like the grip. I have large hands, and the bit of extra width is more to than the slight loss of concealability.

Wooden grips for the S&W 500

I had a set of Herrett's Jordan Troopers on mine. They felt much better to me, and being custom made they fit my hand very well. I stayed away from the hotter loads, however, staying around 1200-1300 fps with 440 grain bullets.
