LGS Find: Model 49; Worth the Price?

OP says it might be unfired. Added with the box, I'd say that raises the bar a good bit, price wise, IMO. $895 may indeed be a bit too high, but I'd bet it would sell to someone between $700-800. If in fact it is "unfired". My .o2

New acquisition for my collection- S&W Model 15-3 2 inch

I have a dash 3 15 snubbie. I don't think I've even shot it yet........... The perils of owning a motorcycle AND photography equipment. Shooting takes a break until cooler weather........... :(

New to me 28-2 Snub Nose

Doubtful it's sleeved, IMO. Making SURE the gun is empty & cylinder left open, one can look at the muzzle & see the sleeving on those guns that have them. Dash 2s were made from 1961 to 1969, so sleeved bbls on Smiths were virtually unknown then. I know rifle bbls were sometimes sleeved, but I...

New to me 28-2 Snub Nose

I have popped balloons at 50 yards with a snubbie. Yes, I missed a few shots but once I learned the hold-over, I more often than not hit one. Never tried a 100 yard shot though. Bob Munden used to do some long-range shooting with a snubbie on several episodes of Am Shooter. Probably on...

    3 inch 66-2 rarer than 2/12 inch?

Sales would be my guess. The 4" & 6" revolver market is these days HAS to be tiny as heck, IMO. Awkward to carry concealed, not really geared towards handgun hunting & doesn't compare well to the 586/686 in those bbl lengths, IMO. On this one, I believe Smith hit it right on the mark for sales...

RIA makes darn good 1911 10mm's!!!!!! I have two, a Commander & 2011. I don't think I had to adjust the sights on either of them.

May I suggest you line up several gallon jugs filled with water. See how many get penetrated with your carry ammo? I've done this & have gotten surprised, both good & bad. My .o2

Who cares where it's made when they're SOLD in the US? Beretta has a US plant, so does Sig now & CZ USA. All make .40 cal pistols.

I had several tell me the same thing. And it was ALL females who couldn't shoot them. Not surprised.

A whole lotta of what-the-heck in that statement, IMO.

    10-7, 4" pinned, with Grip Adapter....cheap!

Maybe.......... I got my HB 10 for (I think) about $329 just a couple of years ago. Came with a leather duty holster, which I never use. I believe the pencil bbl is maybe better suited for first-time female shooters vs the HB. But the HB will win the accuracy battle though. Hope you enjoy...
