Well today I cleaned the three inch barreled model 36 I bought a few weeks ago. Man was it dirty, I bet I spent an hour or so cleaning the bore. I finally had to resort to Hoppes #9 to get it clean. I've read on this forum for light surface rust you can use brass wool to remove it? Any other...
I bought a model 36 square butt with a 3" barrel off of gunbroker a few weeks ago fo $301.99 & no shipping charge. Looked it up & it was made in 1971. I was a sophmore in high school. I have been trying to snap up 3" guns when I can. I have four of them now.
I just bought a model 36 square butt with a 3" barrel. I can't seem to locate the serial number in the Standard catalog of Smith & Wesson. It is 48J***, thanks.:D
I bought a model 36 last Friday at my honey hole for $425.00. I but $100 down to keep it from finding another home. I looked it up in my book, it is a square butt made around 1967/68.
Just bought a 25-2 that had a 6" barrel but was cut to 4". It appears to be a professional job. My problem is it is a 25-2 but the serial # starts with an N805***. It has a pinned barrel TT,TH. The Standard Catalog says the 25-3 was manufactured in 1977 but in the back of the book it says...
I own two model 38's. One is a flat latch made in 1963. The other one was a dog that someone painted an ugly black color. I had it blasted & cerakoted flat black & it looks alot better.
I bought a beat up 5906 on an auction site paid $270 with shipping. The end of the slide looks like someone took a dremel to it. I was the only bidder, I did very good or very bad. When I get it I will give it to a friend of mine for an inspection & to see what it will take to bring it up to...
I bought a model 38 Bodyguard Airweight that I had cerakoted flat black. It looks really good the cerakote brought the old girl back. Instead of of an ugly finish that was on it it looks brand new kind of an old school new school look. The finish is like a LCR but it is old school hump back...
Lost a model 38 Bodyguard Airweight made in 1963, flat latch. She said I bought it for her & upon her death it should go to the youngest stepson. Funny I don't remember it that way. Anyway I haven't got it back for over 20 years. So I gave up & bought another one for myself oh well!
I bought one a no dash model 60 at the LGS for $400.00 cash last fall. I had a trigger job done on it & had it cleaned up for $100.00. Its worth what you are willing to pay for it period end. Drop the cash & walk out with it."Its all good"!
I purchased a model 65 3" police turn in gun about two or three years ago & bought a model 64 3" gun this year it is a Georgia Parole Board marked gun. Three inch guns are very hard to come by in my neck of the woods. I have never seen a 3" model 66 but if I do I know what I will do.:)
