Lots of interesting tidbits on this thread. I purchased an 5906 a while back. I also have a Shield 9 for cc and really like it. I keep the 5906 and extra loaded mags handy at home. If I were to ever get in a gun fight, that would be my handgun of choice.
I buy on Gun Broker from time to time but, living on a fixed income, I have to draw a price line in the sand beyond which I won't go. Sometimes I win, sometimes the other guy wins. More power to him. I always figure there will be another one, maybe better, come along. Just have to be patient.
I just recently bought a 5906. Beautiful weapon and well made. I own a couple of .22 semi-autos and I just can't see a .22 LR cartridge generating enough thrust to push that heavy stainless steel slide back far enough to rack another round.
I was at a gun show recently. My wife was purchasing a Glock 43 for carry at a booth offering almost exclusively Glocks. Not being a Glock kind of guy, I was surprised to see two stainless steel semi autos on display. I didn't know the model designation on them but I did see "Tactical"...
I've seen several comments on this thread about the FBI switching back to 9mm. I recently traded in my only .40 on a S&W9 Shield. I rarely shot the .40 due to the excessive trigger pull on it, even after having a trigger job done on it. Love the Shield and it is my choice for carry. In Guns...
I just went through the same experience. My wife had a Charter Arms .38 special with a 2" barrel. It was a little too much gun for her so she didn't like going to the range. She didn't care for my Shield 9 either. We went to a gun show this past weekend and she traded it in on a Glock 42...
I went to a gun show this weekend and traded in my SD40VE (which I rarely shot) on a M&P 9 Shield. I have wanted a carry gun for a while but was reluctant to get a compact. What a surprise when I took it to the range. It is a dream to shoot. I was glad to see CaptRon's comments about...
I live in East Texas and 70 miles is a routine trip to go shopping with my wife. I'd certainly drive that far to purchase a 27-2 if the price was right. Don't let little things stop you from doing what makes you happy. I'm going to drive 1300 miles one way in July just to go shoot with my...
Nice looking revolver. I have a recently acquired, lightly used 28-2 with a six inch barrel that I really like. If you choose to get rid of this one, just let me know.
