    Swede CG-63

If you're still interested... I just ran across this thread while doing searches for 6.5 loads for the CG-63. If you're still interested I can give you some info. My favorite Mausers are the Swedes (I've got an M96, M38 and a CG-63) and the 6.5x55 is my favorite rifle round. They're extremely...

Am I guessing the correct date for this M&P?

I just picked up a M&P 4" today...picking up a rifle I ordered and of course I -had- to look around. Anyway, looking up the ser#, C21##, in SCOSW only gives me 1948-1951. It's in good shape, typical holster wear marks, matching numbers, not a spec of rust or pitting in the finish and original...

Need advice on mainstring for 686

I recently replaced the mainspring in my 686-5 with the one from the Wolff reduced power kit. I've used the same kit on my 67-1, and liked it alot...not too stiff not too light. However in the 686-5 it's too light, way too light for my liking. I had installed the 15lb rebound slide spring as...

    Mild .357 Magnum Load for a K -Frame 66

I was using Bullseye, but I shoot at an indoor range 90% of the time and it was a little too smokey w/ SWC for me. I got my hands on some Trail Boss and it's not a problem anymore. 3.5g w/ a 158 SWC and I've got a nice, very mild load.

How do you clean your revolver?

For normal cleaning, MPro7 works well for me. A couple of times a year I'll use my ultrasonic cleaner, but it involves a complete strip-down afterwards to remove any moisture and to relube all the parts.

    Mouse Gun .32 ACP choice

Can't offer an opinion on what to buy, but can on one to avoid. For semi-autos i'm usually a big Beretta fan and looked into the Tomcat...then a friend bought a Bobcat. Neither the Tomcat of Bobcat have an extractor, because of that tip-up barrel design. They use the blowback to eject the spent...

    38 Special 586?

According to 'the book', they made a 2 1/2", 4", and 6" model for Brazil. 158 of the 2-12" and 23 of the 4" went to US distributors.

    JG Sales Mod 64

Don't know anything about their 64's, but I just picked up a 67-1 earlier this week and it's in good shape. About the only small dings on it appear to be from a seat beat. The trigger pull is a bit heavy, but I'll work on that when I drop the SA/DA hammer into it. The barrel is in great...

    19-2 question

It's forward like that on a -3. Thanks for the info and help guys!

    19-2 question

I just picked up a 19-2 2.5" in excellent condition. My question is the serial number K7947** dates to 1968, but I was under the impression that by '68 19's were -3's. The yoke assembly number is 74445 with a larger 5 under that. I am correct in assuming it is a -2 assembled prior to '68, and...

    Sky High priced 686

Keep looking. I bought a 686-3 6" a few weeks ago, ANIB for about $500.

    What do you actually CCW?

Normally a Beretta 70S or 84FS because they're compact. Winter months or I'm not going to take off my jacket Ruger SR9.

    .357 Magnum & .45 ACP

Another 686 vote. I recently bought a 686 6" and the recoil w/ mag. loads isn't bad at all. When I fired .38 wad cutters thru it for the first time I thought it was a squib round. It really absorbs a lot of recoil. I shot off about 75 357 rounds and it didn't bother me, with my Ruger Blackhawk...
