    High Grade Smith and Wesson

Well these days how do "they" judge a top of the line revolver. I carried and shot many revolvers over a 39 year career, and still do, but not anywhere near the "old days" extent. My favorite factory revolvers were the 14-5/6s with the full underlug. I probably have 8-9 of them 4" and 6"...

    686 6” CS 1, the ultimate 686 unicorn?

The guns in both pictures are PPC revolvers not distinguished guns like the 686. Easy to spot in the first photo and the second with the spotter it still looks like a full rib on top of a bull barrel. I shot against the BP Team {and was friends) for way over 20 years and those fellows would have...

I tried, but failed. But can it be called "failing"?

2002 with 340+ on it. Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. It could use a new drivers seat, kind of broke down, maybe next year.

Anyone Else Stipple Their Third Gen Grips?

I reduced the hump in my 6906 grips and then it was slick, which I thought looked ok but ended up stippling it a bit. Lost my buddy "Dillon" over 3 years ago. Just cant get myself to get another doggy. He was such a good mutt. Wife took this picture of us, she thought it was funny. I had...

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

When we started issuing 92s I had a bit of a time switching from a revolver. The first press was fine it was the others I couldn't get used to. Had to commit to get a job a the academy , as that was the issue gun. In a month or so had got used to it and really liked it as a combat weapon. I...

    6906 revived

Well, being left-handed I put an ambi safety on mine. I don't understand why it's such an issue for right handers since the left side/with the decocker, is against your body already, the other lever isn't rubbing again your body or anything. I understand personal preference, but if you ever...

    6906 revived

Carried this one for over 20 years. Was my uniform gun as an armorer and EDC. Changed the front night sight to a F/O when I retired. Gun is so accurate I shot it in the off duty gun match at nationals for years, never won but placed second and third. My fault not the guns. I have several P/C...

    6906 intermittent light primer strikes

I would bet the ammo is the culprit. But if the gun was a used gun, or even not, after the firing pin channel check the hammer spring. Sometime guys will clip a coil or 2 off to lighten the first trigger press. May work fine for years and then takes a set and works intermittently.

Now I'm doing construction work for critters?

I can never understand when people let their animals run the house, and get away with anything. No special treatment at our place.

Gunsmith for barrel cut and profile change

I just saw a photo of someone who had that mod done on a 617 looked nice, but dont know where the thread went. I was at the bottom of this page.

    3 inch 66-2 rarer than 2/12 inch?

I always thought the rules kind of followed the donations. For years you had to have a 4" or less semi auto for stock auto match. Then suddenly the Glock 34/35 were approved. Not like they didn't make a 4" gun.?? Took a while but had to allow full size 1911s and Berettas. At least it gave me a...

Model 14-3 and Disassembly Surprise or Ode to Gerd W

Are they some kind on import marks. See those kinds of stamps on guns from Europe to USA.

    Hanen Special Model 14-2 4”

No, it's actually a bull barrel from a model 64. The early ones had a pinned short ramp sight. Just removed it and replaced it with a sight off of a model 17. The top 67-1 I did a barrel switch on it when I found a barrel that someone had milled off the front sight and replaced it with a blued...

    3 inch 66-2 rarer than 2/12 inch?

I doubt that the 2.75 had anything to do with the off duty match. That rule has been in effect for many years and for years now most shoot some sort of semi-auto in the off duty match anyway. Would have liked to have had a 2.75 all the years I shot it with a 2.5 inch 19 and had to deal with...
