Here is an example of some .32 rim fire out there for sale. I see the Civil War era copper cased stuff for sale quite often in lots of 1-6 rounds fairly reasonable.
I would try to find the spring and fix it. The cylinders on these were never as tight as later era Smiths and it is pretty hard...

Wow, only 3 pick the Model 19. 50 years ago would have been a different outcome.
I actually carry a revolver and the 4" is a fast handling holster gun, or you can easily stash it in your belt, under your coat or shirt.
I hammer Federal Hydro Shok 147gr +P+ out of a circa 1976, run of the mill hog handled heavy barreled 10-5. No problems whatsoever. (I bought the thing for the grips, but it quickly became my favorite shooter/carry gun. Go figure.)
I believe constant loading and unloading with the Hollywierd...
OK, just kidding around. That is a very nice old Smith with honest, tasteful wear.
I have some safe queens but they would be the first to go if I ever started selling. I just get more enjoyment from the ones I can actually use without fear of blowing thousands of dollars. But that's just me...

I had thought they were made till 1907, but I am certainly no expert on 100 year old Smiths.
Were all of the 1st change M&Ps round butts?
I would get a nice Jordan River Holster for it and carry it.
