    Model 2 Questions

Here is an example of some .32 rim fire out there for sale. I see the Civil War era copper cased stuff for sale quite often in lots of 1-6 rounds fairly reasonable. I would try to find the spring and fix it. The cylinders on these were never as tight as later era Smiths and it is pretty hard...

If you could only have one revolver in .357, what model would it be?

Wow, only 3 pick the Model 19. 50 years ago would have been a different outcome. I actually carry a revolver and the 4" is a fast handling holster gun, or you can easily stash it in your belt, under your coat or shirt.

    +P's in a Model 10 snubbie

I hammer Federal Hydro Shok 147gr +P+ out of a circa 1976, run of the mill hog handled heavy barreled 10-5. No problems whatsoever. (I bought the thing for the grips, but it quickly became my favorite shooter/carry gun. Go figure.) I believe constant loading and unloading with the Hollywierd...

    44 HE 3rd model Military

OK, just kidding around. That is a very nice old Smith with honest, tasteful wear. I have some safe queens but they would be the first to go if I ever started selling. I just get more enjoyment from the ones I can actually use without fear of blowing thousands of dollars. But that's just me...

1905 1st Change Date of Manufacture

Thanks for the info. I had thought they were made till 1907, but I am certainly no expert on 100 year old Smiths. Were all of the 1st change M&Ps round butts?

You are welcome ordnanceguy. It is the least I can do seeing how you are going to the trouble to document these old war guns for everyone!

    38-44 Fix it...or sell it ??

I would get a nice Jordan River Holster for it and carry it. It is nice to impress people with pristine looking guns on the internet, but most of those pretty guns are safe queens That one looks like a good holster gun. I have too many nice guns that are too good to really use and I could have...

You have mail on another Victory. I bought it up North in New Hampshire at Riley's Sport Shop about 7 years ago, back when they still had good prices. Hope it helps you out. Best, Charles

Off duty wheel gun raises eyebrows.....

I am always suprised to see anyone under 40 that can handle a wheelgun good enough to use it as a combat gun. Seems most of the guys that really know how to use them are getting old.

Off duty wheel gun raises eyebrows.....

Well, a revolver is a lot closer to an autopistol than a bolt gun is to a semi auto rifle in terms of rapid multiple target engagement. Right? When I was a kid, I always wondered what it would be like to be a highly skilled bigbore or magnum wheelgun man. Because most people lack the knowledge...
