My 686 SSR had a similar flat spot on the barrel, like it had been dropped, it came back fixed, along with a few other things.

I put a set of X-frame grips on mine, and on my 625JM, not the prettiest grips, but fills my hand much better than either stock SSR grips, the Hogue Monogrip I put on it, or the Pachmyr presentaion grip on my 625.

Mobil 1 5-30w, because that's what I use in the Tundra, and there's always as bit extra in the bottles after an oil change. If its tough enough to withstand an internal combustion engine's abuse, a gun should be no problem.

It sounds like you have a standard M&P with a 9L top end on it. Check the serial number prefix. What state are you in??

I loaded 100 rounds of .223 PMC with Federal 205's the other day, and had a few(2-3) primers go in VERY stiff, with one crushed and unusable, I'm using a Hornady LNL Progressive. Federal pistol primers have worked great in the past for me.
