Plunger tube for the slide release/safety came loose twice. S&W fixed it for free both times. Mag catch failed once. Replaced it myself with a higher quality piece. I think the scandium frame guns are for carrying more than shooting.
Well, I took the M&P out to shoot this weekend and found out that the reduced power striker spring that came with my Apex trigger would not set of the Nato primers on the 9mm ammo I had. I did not consider this and left the spring at home. Lesson learned.
I’m a pretty good customer and the owner initially asked me if I wanted any mags and showed me the bag full of mags. I raid his mag box every few months. I always let him know if there are rare and/or valuable mags in there and he gives me a good deal on mags I want. 7 of the 6906 mags are...
So my LGS knows I like 3rd gen S&W's and shows me a 6906 in decent shape. $395.00. Sure why not? It's one I don't have but also didn't have a ton of interest in. Came with a new spare grip. Do you have any extra mags? Sure, how many do you want? All of them......
I hear ya, however I have had good luck with other 40’s such as the Sig P226 and I already bought the barrel so I am going to see how it shoots. This is not my primary defense gun so I’m not concerned. Thanks for the input though.
I picked up a factory 9 mm barrel from Midway and some used 9 mm magazines from Gunbroker. Going to try it out in 9 mm next weekend. I also installed an Apex trigger which was a lot more work than I thought it was going to be. I had to take a considerable amount of plastic off of the back of the...
Shot it today and it shot great. Trigger could be lighter but very accurate and 100% reliable. Still confused by the dimples in the underside of the slide.
Picked up a Detroit PD S&W M&P 40 from Aimsurplus on a whim because I like former LE guns. The one I received for $320 was in excellent condition and came with the original box, 2 more backstraps and one magazine. It is marked "Detroit PD"on the top of the slide and "DPD1240" on the side of...
Dammit! I held out as long as I could but ordered a used one today. They have 1 new and 3 used left. You snooze you lose! Add 8688 to the serial number list.
