    Got a steel model 49 2" that I believe was made between 1971 and 1973. Was it rated for +P's or does S&W just say you can shoot them through any steel 2"?

    Chiefs Special Variations, Year?

    My father was a police officer that carried an old model 36 chief 38 spl 2". The serial number is 8404. He was on the police dept from 1940 to 1968 .I know this is an old one. Just don't know how old. Anybody know?
