39-2 +P FWIW, I have some old Federal 95 grain flat point ammo rated at 1400 fps issued by the ISP in the late 70's and early 80's. They shot qualification with this load and I got to watch some of the better shots for the ISP in an informal practice at 50 yards. Those guys did quite well...

I was on the range a couple of years ago and a fellow shooter locked his 586 up shooting Rem mags. Primer flow was the problem. Had to force the cylinder open and shear off the stuck portion of the primer. Gun was used and the guy had just bought it when it jammed. CraigJ

LCR I have 2-642's and a LCR. The LCR grips are better than the factory Smith's but the LCR grips have to be modified for most speed loaders to work. The Speer 135 SB shoots excellent out of both. Personal preference will decide. CraigJ

Blue v. Stainless IMHO and FWIW, carry stainless, collect blue! Either would work for a nightstand gun. In your case $ would probably be the determining factor. CraigJ

I have a Pre-19 that needs to be totally re-finished. Somebody blued over the old blue and the new didn't stick on the wear areas. I have tried Smith and they don't do them that old. I contacted Turnbull and they won't do it either. Any referrals would be greatly appreciated. CraigJ

Pre 19 My 4 screw is K 2618XX. Unfortunately it was butchered before I bought it. Looks as if it was re-blued over the old blue and other disgusting kitchen gunsmithing. Need to send it back to Smith and try to get it looking better. CraigJ

Shot a XD 9 and M&P 9 side by side and took the XD back. Have full size and compac. Love the changeable grips. CraigJ

Igot a Ruger stainless to go with my M41. The Ruger is for everything but PPC. The M41 shines there-with CCI ammo!! CraigJ

Try CCI standard loads. Mine used to hate everything but the CCI. CraigJ

Lucky you! I sent for my 2 free mags for my 9 full size and still waiting (may 15). Now have a 9C and gonna have to wait even longer!!! CraigJ
