I asked Ford to try and bring the finish back to original as possible- I am very happy with the way it turned out, but still puzzled on the stripping of bluing- then sealing the finish..

The previous stripping of bluing appeared to have a sealer applied- and even the case color parts were discolored.

Yes- all serial #'s do match including frame, stocks and cylinder

Thank you, and the stocks do have the same 6 digit numbers as serial numbers on frame and cylinder.

Pre- Model 29 I have a pre-29 shipped in Jan 1957, 5 screw, Ser# 153xxx. With Jinks letter. A Jink's letter should tell you.

Has anyone ever seen (2) different serial number stampings on a 1961 S&W 28-2? The correct Serial Number is stamped at the bottom of the grip - where the frame stud hole is. It looks like a stamp before the hole was punched..Please see photo and please comment...

FYI , I have a lettered 44 Mag 5 Screw ser# 153xxx shipped in Jan 1957.. ( I just double checked the letter)
