    Should I buy a sport?

If you catch them on sale, in the $600 range, I really don't think they can be beat. Heck, I paid full retail for my wife's and I'm still happy with the price. I'm not a fan of either, FA, or the DC... So I wouldn't be the best, for an opinion on the lack of them.

    $1000 M&P15 Sport

Oops! Mine just jumped $94 (with shipping). Just bought the Primary Arms Red-Dot Reflex. Brand new optic, they're offering... can't wait to get it. Hopefully Monday, so I can take it to the range. Basically, its a Burris at a 1/3 the price. It has a cool photocell brightness feature.

    New MP Sport need accessories.

Mine's been regressing. The parts/upgrades I bought, were things I wanted for it, to cover every need, I saw it covering... if need be. Problem is... it doesn't need to be that all the time. Most of the time, I want it to be a very light, small, fast, accurate, reliable carbine. So mine's...

    $1000 M&P15 Sport

Welcome to the family! Heck, I like my Sport so much... I didn't even hesitate buying my wife one, for her birthday/anniversary. Just waiting the stupid Kalibfornia cooling off period... but it actually falls on the day before her bday... so the timing works out well. As noted, the Sport is...

Does anyone own the M&P15 Sport?

 Yes... I now own another Sport. Or, I should say, I paid for another Sport today (plus extra hardware). My wife has to go in tomorrow to fill out the paperwork and then wait her 10 days. However, this is what she will have, 11 days from now. I have a spare Magpul rail and a couple...

Do any M&P15's meet the HBAR definition ?

Governor Moonbeam banned lead here. So supposedly, unless we can stop it... starting in 2015... no lead in ANY ammo. Won't be able to purchase my reloading supplies, etc. Time for some changes.

    New MP Sport need accessories.

One thing, I think everyone will agree on. New handguard/heatshield. What's currently on there, is only a handguard. It will get warm. Now, need to just decide what/which you want... after you shoot your gun a bit. I knew the things I wanted, before I ever bought mine... not everything was...

    New M&P 15 Sport problem.

The "Penetrator" rounds, as noted aren't really armor piercing, as most armor is hardened. The steel core on the green tips, will indeed go thru 1/4" steel and they'll do it at 200 yds, but its not hardened steel, which makes a difference. Almost anything built to withstand firearms, is going to...

Everything I own. ;) Magpul MOE everything, except for the buttstock, get the CTR. Primary Arms or Vortex for optics (best warranty in the game). If it were my only optic, I would probably opt for a red dot only, with co-witness to irons... and I'm one of those insists a firearm have irons.

Let's talk about weight... putting your rifle on a diet...

Considering taking off the grip. I'm pretty new to the AR platform, so it doesn't really feel natural to me. That's why I kept getting them shorter and shorter. Though, I've kind of taken a liking to the little Magpul, I've found two different grip profiles I like using it (though, one is like...

Now I'm tempted to tear off some hardware. Go with the basic, just to see what mine weighs in at? Haven't weighed it without the optic, honestly. Think I would, especially being a ADM QD mount. But, its just always going to be on there, unless it breaks. So, I consider it part of the weight...

    New M&P 15 Sport problem.

Mine was just like that. Well, not just. But its tight. Like the guy at the shop said, "they have some tight tolerances". Its loosened up a bit with firing. Haven't really had any problem removing it, since that initial cleaning, after firing. I didn't clean it before the range. I wiped it...

    Barrel Twist:1 in 8 or 9?

Won't find any snickering on my part. I'd rate my Mini and AR #1A and #1B. Both handle their jobs well... and that Mini will eat any ammo, chew it up, spit it out... never jams... and it takes nothing more than a 1/4" punch to tear it down. Just ignore them. If they hate on it, it just shows...

Interesting input. Thanks guys. Though, I very seriously doubt this rifle would see those upgrades. If I bought a second Sport for my wife (doubtful), I would give some thought to it. But, I'm thinking towards a future build and leaning more and more towards starting from scratch.
