Other than the first round pop, the 15-22 is very quiet. Get some aquilla 60 grain or some copper jacketed subsonic and it is really quiet. When I shoot lead balls through it is is a little louder than the good ammo.

I have a extra vortex flip to the side mount and was wondering if anyone tried to mount a scope with a flip mount. I could use the promag flip up sights when I flip the scope to the side. The vortex has about an inch contact on the rings and works great with my 6 in magnifier. What do you think?

I added the 2-5x lucid magnifier and was much better. The second ring is gone and my groups tightened to 1 inch at 25 yards. The only bad thing is the weight and length of the scope magnifier combo. I could put a 6x24 scope on and use leases rail space.

The magnifier makes it even better. I have an eye issue so I have to use the magnifier.

I love my 15-22 with lucid hd7 with the 2-5 magnifier. I get 3" groups at 50. I want a rifle that can reach out to 300 yards accurately for target shooting on the farm. Is a .223 AR a good choice or should I go .223 bolt action? I plan on going with a simple setup. Thanks for any help.
