    Most underrated 1911, the Billboard

All of the S&W 1911's are underrated. Nice pistola

3953 Current Value & Production Numbers?

I'd pay up to $500 for one in excellent condition, but most people won't buy a 3953 unless it was dirt cheap. They are not for everyone and will have a limited appeal. Not really a collectors piece or ever will be. But obviously smith isn't making any more of them. They appeal to folks who...

    4583TSW: To Buy or NOT

I would. The DAO takes getting used to, but that's why I bought my 4586, Another trigger type to master. A lcouple of lighter springs really help with the TSW DAO's. Just don't go too light and sacrifice ignition reliability.

3rd Gen Gurus, question on serial#...

If this "no longer in possession" form isn't mandatory, I'd just skip it. That form isn't going to hold you harmless from any liability. It's going to just paint a target on you for a bored office cop that needs to keep busy by picking up obvious filing discrepancies between databases. It's...

WTT: German Sig P220 for S&W third gen. - FTF in CT

I have a law enforcement trade-in german Sig Sauer P220 in .45ACP that I'm looking to trade for a Smith third gen, preferably in .45 or 9mm. The Sig has functional night sights, thin factory grips, one new factory mag, one used factory mag, a slide refinished in what appears to be duracoat...

    current $ for NIB 4040PD?

That gun NIB could sell for $700 if the seller can find the right buyer. Limited market, so it comes down to how fast the seller wants to move the gun. If you really like the gun, and have been looking for one, see if you can talk him down a bit, or at least roll the taxes into the purchase...

Where do y'all stand on this revolver/semi-auto trade? (UPDATE)

That's a tough one. It depends what else you have in your collection. If you already have some nice smith revolvers, make the trade. The 4506 is a nice gun.

I'd think I've had enough good will built up by now to either have someone edit, or allow a self edit my post before showing me the door for an honest mistake ;)

    RCMP 5906 on gunb0rker

Edit: url removed. These are easy to find on the b0rker. No comment on pricing. Are these the real deal? His other auctions are highly hyperbolous to say the least...

5906 at LGS price too high?

In that condition, the price is fine. Even the beat up cop guns are $400. How much more $$$ could you possibly get him down? $450??? That's another $35 big deal, it will cost more to drive around to other gun stores and kick yourself later on.

Lubrication for aluminum frame 3rd gens

Shooters choice grease for me. I'd use tetra or tw25b if I had it on hand.

    Interesting find @ Cabellas: S&W 3913

That's exactly $5 more than I paid for my 3913 in exact same condition two years ago at the CT cabellas. Nice gun. Shoot and carry it. They hold up fine.

Would anyone else like to see the old S&W GEN 3 pistols comeback??

You are making me reconsider keeping my gun in my pants!
